 Mother Teresa Women's University is recognised and approved by UGC and is Accredited with an 'A' Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a CGPA of 3.1. It is the only Women’s University of Tamil Nadu State Government. The university was established in 1984.

There are various UG and PG courses available and many colleges are affiliated to this university.

The fees range between INR 10,000 to INR 30,000 according to the course.

Mother Teresa Women's University has a Placement Cell that helps in organising the placement drive for the students. Admissions to the Institute of Business Management (IBM) at GLA University in Mathura are entrance-based. The university conducts an online entrance test called GLAET at 60 centers across India. Candidates can register for the test online or offline.

The university shortlists candidates for admission based on their scores in GLAET, CAT, MAT, XAT, or UPSEE. For general quota admissions, the university considers a student's ranking in the entrance exam. For foreign/NRI quota admissions, the university considers a student's marks in their 10+2 or equivalent exam.

The university also offers merit-based scholarships to help students with their higher education.

Bachelor of Arts is a 3 year program. It can be pursued full-time, part-time, or through distance learning.
