B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2021

Review of NIT Trichy - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: L&T came for an internship in my civil engineering branch, and they shortlisted about 10 people for interviews. They may offer a stipend of around 4000. Every year, 95% of students get placements in both core and management companies, and that number is increasing. Some multinational companies like Alstom and Samsung are now coming here every year.
Infrastructure: B. Teach students don't get single rooms. We share rooms with two roommates in the first year, then have one roommate for the next three years. Although the hostels aren't too bad, they're definitely not up to the standards of some other NITs where students get more space. The hostels are neat and clean with regular cleaning. There are plenty of hostels, so there is no shortage of seats.
Faculty: The faculty here is good, and the course structure is the best, with a focus on labs. The faculty members have good teaching skills, and I want to go back there. Overall, the faculty is 'okay,' with some professors being very good and highly motivated to teach, while many others either aren't good enough or just don't care. I believe standards improve as you move to the pre-final and final years of the course. I have a Bachelor of Commerce in Applied Economics.

NIT Trichy - The pride of India.
Placements: Everything is good at NIT Trichy. The college generally achieves high placement rates, with over 85% of students being placed in recent years. The highest salary packages can reach up to 67 LPA, while the average package typically ranges from 10 LPA to 23 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and Flipkart. A significant percentage of students also secure internships, with many receiving Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs). It's NIT Trichy.
Infrastructure: Everything is good. The labs are a good place to spend time because most of the labs are good. We learn a lot in labs. The classrooms during the summer are bad because it is so hot. The library is huge, and there are many books available. The mess food is average. Sports and games are good here. You can go and play anytime you want. There are fests related to sports.
Faculty: The teachers are average. Some of them are new to the teaching profession and came from the research side. Their language is so complex that we couldn't understand it. It might be correct, but they teach classes like we know everything. The curriculum is good, and the exams are difficult in core-related subjects.
Other: I chose this course as it is a circuital branch. There are many fests like Sportsfete, Nittfest, Festember, and Pragyan. The surroundings are good, but the environment is too hot.

The college is good enough to provide us with opportunities, but it lacks in extracurricular activit
Placements: I don't have any figures, but the percentage of placed students will be around 90%. The highest salary was 53 lakhs, and the average salary was 27 lakhs. I don't have any idea about the lowest salary; it may be around 12-15 lakhs. All big companies visit the campus, like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, D.E. Shaw, etc. The internship percentage will be around 30%-50%, but I don’t have specific figures.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good enough, with very fast Wi-Fi and good labs, but there is no AC in any classroom or some labs. Other facilities are decent, but the hostel is not so good in terms of infrastructure, like the quality of washrooms. There is also no washing machine in the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful if you study well and pay attention in class. They are well qualified and knowledgeable, but the quality of teaching is not so good. This is partly due to the students, as many don’t take an interest in the subjects, which causes teachers to lose interest in teaching as well.
Other: In the computer science course, the curriculum is not very industry-oriented. Additionally, the college doesn't provide enough funds for sports materials.

Everything is excellent, but there are more students from Tamil Nadu.
Placements: There are 90% placements in my branch, and it is a better option than non-circuital branches. We can also go for software jobs and core jobs. But there are some lecturers who don't listen to our demands at all, but everything is fine with our college.
Infrastructure: The hostels are a little old, but they're good. Hostel allotment is also very good, and we can also interact with seniors easily, and it's very fun. Bathrooms are common for everyone, and per room, there are 3 people, and after the 2nd year, we have 2 people per room.
Faculty: The course curriculum is very good.
Other: It's an 850-acre campus, so it's sufficient to enjoy ourselves.

My review of this college.
Placements: NIT Trichy offers one of the best placements. Placements are 100% guaranteed. Job opportunities are also good. Around 2,000 people get admission every year, and obviously, according to 100% placements, 2,000 people get selected in top companies, except for our marks and all that system. It is good for placements. Few companies like ISRO, BEL ITI, Halosoft, Jasmine, Microsoft, Nvidia, Goldman Sachs, DE Shaw and Co., Cisco Systems, etc., visit the college for campus placements. In my branch, the highest package is 20 LPA. The average package is around 6 LPA. This is the main shortcoming of this institute.
Infrastructure: The hostel and mess facilities are top-class. There are both North Indian and South Indian messes. The Kerala mess is the best of all. There are about 15 men's hostels and 4 women's hostels on the campus. Single-seater and two-seater rooms are available for students as per availability. There is a sports complex inside the hostel.
Faculty: We have got one of the best faculty members with a lot of experience and excellent teaching skills. Every department has its own HOD which always strive for the sustainable development of the institution. I would suggest students make their own efforts and let the faculty members just guide them. The is a common thing in every college in our country. We only have exams in the first year, and they are not too frequent. We have 2 cycle tests and one final exam each semester, which is not too much pressure in the second year, and we didn't have any exams, but constant project reviews at regular intervals. It is well-planned, and the exam structure has been planned by taking the all-around growth of students. It is one of the prestigious institutions in India and an institution of national importance. The course curriculum is in line with students' development.

The placements are really good, along with the facilities.
Placements: 97+ percent of students got placed in Chemical Engineering from NIT Tiruchirappalli. The highest package is above 60 LPA, and the lowest is around 7-8 LPA. Top recruiting companies for B.Tech include Google, Microsoft, Oracle, and many more.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for all courses and departments, like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and library, are good. The hostel facilities are decent, neither very good nor very bad, and the quality of food available in the mess and canteen is okay. Medical facilities are also good.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, and their knowledge is very good due to their years of experience. The teaching quality of the professors is solid. There are two cycle tests and one end-semester exam per semester, with the pass percentage varying with the average.

Minimum rank for Other State (OS): ~1100

Minimum rank for Home State (HS): ~4463

For CSE at NIT Trichy, aim for a JEE Main rank under 1,100 if you're applying through OS, or under 4,500 through HS quota.

With an AIR of 67,353 in JEE Main, you have good chances of getting NITs like NIT Jalandhar, NIT Goa, NIT Hamirpur, and NIT Srinagar, especially in branches like Civil, Mechanical, EEE, or ECE. You may also get core branches in newer NITs like Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, and Puducherry. Th
