RGNUL is a good place to beat.
Placements: Our college provides placement offers from good law firms like SAM, CAM, Trilegal, etc. It is said that RGNUL is not good for placements, but they also need to understand not a lot of students opt for placements. Our college has a great judiciary culture, so most of the students opt for judiciary or further studies, but it does not mean we do not have placements here.
Infrastructure: There are 6 hostels for boys and 5 for girls. Another building is also being built for girls. Hostels are great with spacious rooms, air-conditioners, geysers, and good Wi-Fi connection. You may have to connect to Wi-Fi again and again, but it works great. RGNUL is known for its infrastructure and hostels. The infrastructure is great and properly designed. You might have to walk a lot but it is worth it. The library is good and its infrastructure is great. There is a lot of space to sit and read in the library. It is filled with different books, law journals, law magazines, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and approachable. Professors are well-versed in their particular areas. If you have any doubts, then you can go to their office during office hours, and they will help you out. First years majorly have to study B.A. subjects but 1 or 2 law subjects. In the second year, law subjects increase, but B.A. subjects are still there, and from 3rd year onwards, there are all law subjects. The curriculum is designed properly according to the needs of the students.
Other: Our college is far from the city. It takes like 20-25 minutes to go to the city and we have an auto right outside the campus to go to the city. There is also a scooter service, where you can rent a scooter for a day. College life is happening right after as one or other kind of event or competition is going on. It keeps you entertained and and makes you feel a bit relaxed. Our college organises an event named Zelus, which is our own sports fest, and it is one of the greatest times in our college. Tedx is also held in our college which is great. For the semester break after 1 semester, you are given a 1-month break, and after the 2-semester, there is a 2-months break.

RGNUL - A Place Where You Will Find Your Way
Placements: 30% of the batch gets placed. It’s not due to placement by the college, but 90% of the placed students secure pre-placement offers themselves. Packages start around 6 Lacs, with 10-12 Lacs being average, and tier 1 firms can offer up to 22 Lacs. Not many firms visit for placements. S&A and EY are major recruiters, offering around 8-10 Lacs. 90% of students get internships, but the college's contribution is minimal; students find these themselves. Top roles include associate at law firms, in-house legal counsel, junior advocates at chambers, and consultants at public policy forums.
Infrastructure: All facilities are provided, including Wi-Fi, computer labs, AC in classrooms, moot court hall, and seminar hall. In the hostel, there is double occupancy for the first three years and single rooms for the next two. Guest house and medical facilities are available. The campus includes a facility area with shops, laundry, a parlor, a fruit shop, an SBI bank branch, and India Post. The mess is better than at major colleges, though some issues persist occasionally. Water coolers and washrooms are common. Rooms are cleaned daily, with AC available. Sports and games are emphasized, and a ground is available for these activities.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful but not the best. Teaching quality is average overall. The curriculum is relevant but basic, with minimal burden, allowing time for other pursuits. Semester exams are relatively easy to pass with three repeat exam chances. Approximately 95% of the batch passes.
Other: It is a good place if you want to pursue a career in judiciary or other competitive exams. Access to various databases and journals is provided, along with good quality infrastructure. Academics need improvement, particularly with a more proactive internship and placement cell. Zelus is a major sports fest. The campus has a vibrant crowd with many events and parties. It is on the outskirts of Patiala, so connectivity to the city is a bit expensive, although Delhi is accessible by direct bus. There isn’t much to do around the campus except for occasional restaurants and bars. Scholarships are available for SC/ST category students and North Eastern students, as well as merit scholarships through third-party collaborations. Various competitions, conferences, and performances are conducted, including moots, ADRs, debates, and paper presentations.

The placement is really average, but if you want to prepare for government exams, it's good.
Placements: Almost 20% of students get placed through campus drives. The top recruiting companies are SAM and CAM, Luthra and Luthra, and AZ & B Partners. The same percentage of students get internship opportunities in these companies based on their academic and extracurricular achievements, such as publishing articles and blogs. Internships in advocates' chambers are also offered. The top role is Associate.
Infrastructure: The campus is really beautiful and clean. The hostels are amazing, and the mess food is pretty decent compared to most government colleges in India. You get 24/7 Wi-Fi in classrooms, hostels, and the library. The library is spacious and well-equipped with great resources. The medical facilities are not up to the mark, but basic medicine and first aid are available. However, in case of serious illness, the college is not very helpful. The sports facilities are really good. The grounds are massive, and there are also basketball, volleyball, and lawn tennis courts.
Faculty: Some teachers are extremely good at teaching, especially for law subjects. They are knowledgeable and qualified. They design the course in a holistic way. However, some teachers who teach social sciences are not that good. The course curriculum is relevant, but there is a lack of practical topics in the current curriculum. The semester exams are pretty difficult, and the passing requirement is at least a 7 CGPA.
Other: The syllabus designed for B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) is holistic, and facilities are decent. More focus on practical topics and topics that teach the application of laws in real-life situations, like courtrooms, will help improve the syllabus. Events occur during almost every festival, the crowd is good, and students here are really helpful and hardworking. The connectivity of the campus is a little worrisome, as you have to take an auto ride of at least 10 km to reach Patiala City. If you belong to the SC/ST/EWS category, there are many scholarships available to help you.

RGNUL, Best Campus with Quality Education!
Placements: Around 60% of students are placed, and the average package is around 12-15 lakhs. As a tier 2 National Law University, almost all major firms come to campus for recruitment. You can join firms, corporate offices, pursue litigation, or prepare for competitive exams. The college provides opportunities for the same.
Infrastructure: The college has one of the best infrastructures in the National Law Universities. The campus area is around 50 acres with all the facilities inside the campus only. We have shops, a library (one of the largest single-subject libraries in Asia), a health center, and the best sports facilities available in any National Law University.
Faculty: Faculty members are very qualified and knowledgeable; almost every faculty has completed their doctorate or is currently pursuing it through the university's Ph.D. program. The teaching quality is excellent, and the curriculum is very relevant. I am pursuing a 5-year integrated B.A. LL.B. program, and the B.A. course is completed in the first year only. The next four years focus solely on law.
Other: National Law Universities are like IITs for law; the selection process is tough, and therefore, its degree is very valuable for law.

It is a good college to build your career.
Placements: Placements are increasing every year. Around 10-15 students got placed in our college. Our college provides internships in the third year.
Infrastructure: Our college provides the best infrastructure and facilities. The hostel is air-conditioned and has a badminton court, a park, a combined mess, and common rooms. Our college has a sports ground for football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, lawn tennis, and running track. The library is divided into two sections. One is the reading room for which you will have to bring your gadgets and books, which is open till noon. You can borrow books from the other library, which is open till 8 PM. Our college provides many facilities like a mess, a separate auditorium, classrooms, seminar halls, conference rooms, etc.
Faculty: Our faculty members are well-qualified and highly knowledgeable. The course curriculum is designed in such a manner so that you can divert your time to other activities like research and publication, moots, debates, mediation, etc. All subjects are good.
Other: Many students are studying in our college from various parts of India, and unity in diversity is maintained very well. Our college surroundings are not well-developed as it is on the outskirts of Patiala.

Q:   What are the factors affecting NLU Patiala CLAT cutoff 2024?
ShikshaGPT says
A:

Every year, the cut off marks for the CLAT exam are affected due to the following factors:

  • The difficulty level of the exam. In case the question paper is easy then the CLAT cut offs are expected to go high and vice-versa.
  • Total number of applications received. If the total applications received are less then the cut off is expected to be relaxed.
  • Total candidates qualifying CLAT exam. If the total number of qualifying candidates is less than the total seats then cut off goes low
  • Total number of seats. If the total number of seats is revised and increased then cut off is expected to remain low
  • Previous year cut offs. For the top NLUs, the cut-off marks in previous years were high, therefore, only topper candidates could make it for final admissions. Fore other NLUs, the cut off marks are relatively low.
