RGNUL Patiala B.A. LL.B. (Hons) Courses & Fees

The university offers BA LLB course admission based on the CLAT 2024 score. The total number of seats offered through CLAT 2024 are 214 seats. 

For admission to BA LLB (Hons) course at RGNUL candidates have to register through CLAT portal. Registered candidates for CLAT 2024 counselling will be called by RGNUL through five provisional merit lists, each released by the Consortium of CLAT. Candidates, who have been allocated a seat in the provisional lists and applied for revision, should check the status of their seat in the CLAT provisonal lists.

Candidates who qualify for CLAT must pay the fee for their respective courses, which includes components such as Tuition Fee, Examination Fee, Security Deposit, Hostel Charges (if applicable), etc. Other than the course fee, candidates are required to pay a fee for CLAT application fee. For General /OBC /PWD /PIO /OCI /NRI category candidates, the application fee is INR 4,000; for SC /ST /BPL category candidates, the application fee is INR 3,500.

The placements at The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law are pretty good and the average salary package offered was 8.4 LPA. The university is considered to be one of the top universities for law. 

Every year, the students are provided a generous CTC package during the placement drive. Placements for RGNUL Punjab 2023 are now complete. Eight recruiters made PPOs, and eight recruiters made offers to graduating students; the remaining eight recruiters were hired through campus recruitment. The CLAT entrance exam results are accepted by the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) for admission to its BA LLB (Hons) programme. The 12th examinations from the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) are also accepted by RGNUL for candidates from Punjab. Applicants must have received at least 45% (or 40% for SC, ST, and OBC candidates) in their qualifying exam. 

Based on their CLAT score, candidates who have received a legitimate score will be shortlisted. To further assess the candidates, RGNUL may conduct personal interviews (PIs) with those who have been shortlisted if there are more applicants than seats available.

Every year, the cut off marks for the CLAT exam are affected due to the following factors:

• The difficulty level of the exam. In case the question paper is easy then the CLAT cut offs are expected to go high and vice-versa.
• Total number of applications received. If the total applications received are less then the cut off is expected to be relaxed. 
• Total candidates qualifying CLAT exam. If the total number of qualifying candidates is less than the total seats then cut off goes low
• Total number of seats. If the total number of seats is revised and increased then cut off is expected to remain low
• Previous year cut offs. For the top NLUs, the cut-off marks in previous years were high, therefore, only topper candidates could make it for final admissions. Fore other NLUs, the cut off marks are relatively low.

The total tuition fee for Rajiv Gandhi National Law University PG Diploma is INR 9,000. This information is sourced from official website/ sanctioning body and is subject to change. Candidates need to pay course fee at the time of admission to confirm their seat in the university.
