RGNUL LLM Eligibility & Highlights 2025
Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, famously known as NLU Patiala, offers a full-time LLM programme at the PG level. The duration of the course is one year. The PG-level programme is offered in three specialisations. RGNUL LLM specialisations include Business Law, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law and International Law. Candidates are selected based on CLAT.
After appearing for the entrance exam, candidates must register for the CLAT counselling for seat allocation. Before applying for admission, candidates must ensure that they fulfil the following RGNUL LLM eligibility criteria:
- The candidate must pass a LLB/BA LLB degree with a minimum 55% aggregate (50% for SC/ST candidates)
- Candidates appearing in/awaiting results of the above-mentioned examination, being held in April/May may also apply for admission.
Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law LLM Fees 2025
The fees for RGNUL courses comprise various components, such as tuition fees, hostel rent, admission fees, security deposit, etc. The total LLM tuition fee at RGNUL is INR 1.03 lakh. RGNUL LLM Admission Dates 2025
RGNUL LLM admission dates depend on the CLAT dates released by the Consortium of NLUs. The CLAT registration process for LLM admission to the academic session of 2025-26 has started. Interested candidates can apply for CLAT 2025 before the last date, i.e. Oct 15, 2024. The exam will be conducted on Dec 01, 2024. Find below the important dates related to RGNUL LLM admission:

A one-year LL.M. Post Graduation Course in Business Law, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, and International Law is available from the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL). There will be sixty (60) seats available in total for the LL.M. course.
Students in the home state general category are eligible for a specialised rate at the university. For the home state general category students, nine seats will be allotted individually. Students in the SC/ST category will be given 18 seats. Six places are set aside for students belonging to the OBC category. The actual number of seats may differ from year to year; these are only indicative numbers. Please visit the official RGNUL website for the most recent information.
According to NLU Patiala cutoff 2024 CLAT Round 5 Seat Allotment results, the cutoff for LL.M. in Criminal Law stood at 987 for the General AI category. RGNUL LLM Admission 2025: How to Apply?
The RGNUL LLM admission process starts with the registration for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The CLAT application process is conducted online. It includes registration, submission of application fees, & uploading the required documents. Follow the below-mentioned steps for CLAT registration:
1: Visit the official site of the Consortium of NLUs at www.consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
2: Register as a new user by completing the registration form.
3: Verify your phone number for account activation.
4: Log in to fill out the CLAT application form with all the required info.
5: Select at least 3 cities as preferred examination centres & the reservation category.
6: List the NLUs in order of preference. All the participating NLUs will be listed on this page. Here, candidates must place RGNUL at the top of the list.
7: Pay the application fee (which is category-specific) in online mode using credit or debit cards, or net banking.
The application form is automatically submitted after the successful payment of the application fees. For General/OBC/PWD/PIO/OCI/NRI category candidates, the application fee is 4,000. For SC/ST/BPL category candidates, the application fee is 3,500.
After appearing for the CLAT, candidates must register for the CLAT counselling process for RGNUL admission. Seats will be allocated to the candidates based on their CLAT ranks & NLU preferences marked by them. Candidates must submit a registration fee of 50,000 while registering for the CLAT counselling. Candidates can accept (freeze), upgrade or exit from their allotted seat in any round of counselling. Once their preferred seat is allotted to them, candidates can complete the process by paying RGNUL fees.
RGNUL LLM Cut-off
RGNUL LLM cut-off is released in the form of the closing CLAT rank at which admission will be provided. In 2024, the closing rank during the last round of CLAT counselling for admission to LLM in Corporate Law (All-India Category) was 987. As per the CLAT RGNUL 2nd cut off 2025, the closing rank for general category candidate is 1260 through All India counselling. There is no state quota seats available at NLU Patiala in the 2nd allotment list.
