M.Sc. in Biotechnology - Batch of 2026
4.2
There is a balanced learning environment with scope for improvement.
Placements: I am a student of M.Sc. in Biotechnology. I am in the 4th year. Around 30-50 percent of students get placed in our course. The highest package offered is 4 LPA, and the lowest package offered ranges from 1.5-2 LPA. The average package offered ranges from 2.5-3 LPA. The top recruiting companies for our course are Intas Pharmaceutical and Zytex. Students have to find internships on their own. Microbiologist, QC analyst, and QA executive are the top roles offered in our course.
Infrastructure: There are well-equipped microbiology and biotechnology labs with basic instruments like an autoclave, laminar air flow, Soxhlet apparatus, incubator, etc. Classrooms are clean and properly maintained with projector facilities. The library has a good collection of academic books and reference materials related to our course. Wi-Fi facility is available on the campus, though connectivity could be moderate. The basic necessities like drinking water, a seating area, and washrooms are also available here.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable in their own specialisations. Teaching quality is good, with proper explanations and regular doubt-solving sessions. The course curriculum is mostly related to biotechnology and related emerging fields like bioinformatics, etc. It covers all theoretical concepts and basic practical skills. However, more industry exposure and hands-on training would help in making students fully industry- ready. Semester exams are moderate, not too hard and not too easy. We get questions mostly from the syllabus, but the question papers are prepared through AI.

A good university with great campus life.
Placements: Almost 90 percent of students get placed in my course, including on their own and with on-campus placements. Very few students got internships via college, and they have to apply on their own for internships. Placements are not very great, but the package they provide is very low.
Infrastructure: It has good classrooms with Wi-Fi. Classrooms of applied sciences are not air-conditioned, which makes them hot in the summer. Labs are not very top-notch like any other government institution, but they have the basic equipment and chemicals. Mess food is not good. The rest hostels are good, but the food is very average.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and convey their knowledge well. The course curriculum makes students industry-ready, and it gives them that extra edge in the real world. Semester exams are a bit difficult as the exam questions are prepared by AI, so sometimes questions are not that relevant and come out of the syllabus.
Other: I chose this course as it is a diverse field of Science and it fascinates me very much. The campus life in the university is very vibrant as fests, concerts, competitions, and festivals are also celebrated very enthusiastically.

Satisfied with faculty but lacks in explaining effectively. Good placement service.
Placements: 8 percent got placements. Many of the students are still left to give interview from my class. The lowest salary offered is 2.4 LPA and the highest package offered is 3.5LPA but still many companies are under screening process. Intas Micro CRISPR newer insights are the recruiting companies. No one got internship because many companies are yet to come. Roles offered are manufacturing officer and OC official etc.
Infrastructure: Campus infrastructure is awesome and well established. Hostels quality of food is not that good they must focus on hygiene taste and quality they provide.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and encouraging but they lack in explaining the topic. Curriculum is relevant but needs modifications with the latest driving technology topics. Sem exams are so much difficult because papers are made by AI and thats challenging for students to compete with AI.
Other: There are many reasons to choose this course one of them is technology driven medical health care and finding new diagnostic ways and therapy with the help of R&D. Improvements are necessary in syllabus content, Campus life events and activities are excellent its a lot of fun for students.

My college has the best facilities and is equipped with all types of amenities.
Placements: At least 50% of students are placed in our course. It is Biocon or Sun Pharma. The top roles offered in my course are described below. They include the production department, QC, QA, and R&D.
Infrastructure: Our department has great facilities as it contains experienced and valued faculty members. They give guidance and support to each and every student. Our department also includes good library facilities and Wi-Fi. All classrooms are equipped with the necessary technologies. I haven't enrolled in the hostel, but our college possesses great sports and games opportunities.
Faculty: Our teachers and all faculty members are very helpful. They provide all the necessary guidance in our course or in case of any doubts. They are qualified and knowledgeable. My course curriculum is relevant and it makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are somewhat difficult, and the pass percentage is 50%.

If you're thinking about taking admission in Parul University, please STOP thinking.
Placements: Placement is below average as the college does not focus on developing skills, resulting in a very underdeveloped CV for the student. The average package offered is 2-3 LPA. The placement policy is a 13-page document that mainly includes 7-8 types of defaulters and penalties for getting into the defaulter list, ranging from 1,000 to 10,000. The penalty keeps increasing with each instance of getting into the defaulter list.
Infrastructure: The library has very few books available. The classroom benches are very comfortable. There are network jammers all over the campus, and the Wi-Fi quality is poor. Also, you need to sign in to the Wi-Fi network every 2-3 hours, and the Wi-Fi does not work between 12:00-5:00 am. The rooms in the hostels are very small, and the food in the mess is the worst of all. The menu always has fancy names included, like Manchurian, but when you enter the mess, you find something resembling tools.
Faculty: Only a few faculty members here are dedicated and true to their work; the rest all just throw their workload on either other faculty or, in most cases, the students. Most of the time, there are no resources available for practicals, and the exams are conducted while the practicals and syllabus remain incomplete.
Other: Students are not at all respected. Security has more power than HOD. Here, events are more important than your lectures and studies.

Excellent experience with overall good job opportunities.
Placements: Around 60 percent of students are placed. The highest and lowest packages vary in every department. In biotechnology specifically, the lowest package is around 2.4 LPA, and the highest is around 8.6 LPA. The top recruiters of this department are Zydus, Alembic, and Zytex.
Infrastructure: Facilities include good ventilated classrooms and well-maintained laboratories with all the equipment necessary for lab work. I am not a hosteler, so I don't have an idea about the hostel, but the medical facilities are good with an emergency ambulance.
Faculty: Teachers and faculty members are really good and supportive. This course is very relevant. It makes students competitive and confident to enter the industry. The semester exams are not so difficult but are stressful and lengthy.

MSc Biotechnology offers very less placement. You have to do B.Ed. so that you can receive good placements.
