Presidency University, Kolkata admissions 2024 for BA course will start soon. The university offers eight BA courses in two streams, i.e., Humanities and Social Science and Science. However, BA course is offered in various specialisations such as English, Hindi, History etc. The eligibility for the course is to pass Class 12 with 60% to 65% aggregate and the selection criteria is through PUBDET. Presidency University Admission Dates 2024
PUBDET 2024 Admit Card will be released online by the exam conducting body i.e., WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board) at the official website of the exam. Candidates who will register for PUBDET exam will be able to download the PUBDET admit card by visiting the official website of WBJEEB. Once released, candidates will be needed to enter their login credentials to download the PUBDET Admit Card 2024 at the official website of the exam.

Step 2: Fill the Application form
- After successfully registering, candidates can fill the application form by entering information such as personal details such as domicile, category, PwD status, home district, family income status, religion, nationality etc. Academic qualifications of class X and XII details also need to be filled in.
- After filling in the aforementioned details, the candidate needs to choose any two zones of examination in order of his/her choice and submit the application.
- The Application Fees can be paid by Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/ UPI only. Application fees for PUBDET-2024 is INR 500 (Rupees five hundred only) for one paper and INR 250 for each additional paper, plus the Bank’s Service Charges, if applicable.
- In the next step, the candidate needs to upload the required images.

A well-rounded college experience - Faculty, infrastructure, and beyond.
Placements: Placement cell of Presidency University engages the students by placing them in various opportunities. Number of students who get placed is not known in detail to other students, but the university works effectively to ensure a smooth placement process. University helps students get internships, which enhance their real-world experience.
Infrastructure: University has libraries where the students get access to a wide range of books, reference materials, daily newspapers, magazines, and so on. Campus is well-maintained and the classrooms are also equipped to hold a good number of students. University has hostel facilities for the students. Canteen food here is quite affordable. Campus has a gym area and a sports room to foster the physical skills of the students.
Faculty: Professors of this university are highly qualified and employ a unique teaching method. They use PPTs, provide study materials for the topics and the course, and help the students understand the concepts in a better way. Teachers are very helpful here. The course curriculum is according to the NEP and is relevant for the students in the current scenario. The semester exams are not so tough that the students will fail. The question papers are quite standardized but are not difficult.
Other: I chose history honors because I have loved this subject since my school days and the presidency has given me a great opportunity to learn more about this subject. Faculty is so good that it keeps the students engaged with different assignments and internal assessments. Fests here are the most memorable events in the lives of students. Students also become a part of various clubs that are active in college, helping in the holistic development of the students. University has an aesthetic touch and the surroundings are cleaned daily. Students are given various scholarship opportunities.

The exact place you need to grow as an artist as well as a human being.
Placements: Most of the students from my batch will be pursuing master's degrees here, so they didn't go for a full-time job right now including me but we got job offers ranging from 3 LPA-4 LPA. The top recruiting companies are SVF and KCC by Emami Group. Almost 100% of students got internships from this course at KCC. Top roles offered are arts manager, instructor, and professor after completing masters' and post-doctorate.
Infrastructure: We have our lecture theatre with two portable ACs, sound systems, and a projector for a comfortable and engaging learning experience for the students. We have our practical room at the Black Box Theatre, and all the instruments are available there guitar, tabla, keyboard, etc. We have our dance studio where the dance students as well as the theatre students practice their arts and the library contains all the necessary books for the course. The hostel is big, there's a huge football ground, the food is healthy and hygienic and it's near Calcutta Medical College for any kind of emergencies.
Faculty: The professors are engaging and helpful both with practicals and theories. The curriculum is versatile and relevant for getting into the world of performing arts as a working professional be it a performer or an academician. Semester exams are not that hard if class notes are followed correctly. The pass rate is above 95%.
Other: I'm a musician and wanted to be a musician before joining this course, I'd say if you're signing up for this be ready and open to learn because this course teaches it all, and if you want to be a true artist then all this knowledge will be really helpful to make you grow not just an artist but as an individual, both skillful and personally. We have some huge fests every year and as an artist, it's a huge platform to showcase your talents in front of a large audience on the campus and also from outside.

Presidency College and its shenanigans with the prospect of academics and placements.
Placements: Our course does not provide placement, but we are generally offered internships from various NGOs and it further enhances the capacity to work in various conditions and situations. It helps in establishing an academic conditioning that helps in prospects.
Infrastructure: The art department is considered to be one of the best in the country. The infrastructure consists of labs, Wi-Fi, AC, classrooms, etc. The hostel is a Hindu hostel which is available for all the students of the university.
Faculty:
Teachers are highly educated and specialized in the field. They are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching is very high compared to other universities. The course curriculum is relevant and makes us industry-ready. It also further helps us with the semesters. Overall knowledge results in appearing for this semester and the pass percentage is quite high.
Other: I chose the course because I found sociology interesting enough. The crowd and the campus life are quite high in Presidency as it consists of the heritage of the Presidency College, which was established in 1817.

Placements: Around 50-60% of BA Political Science students are placed. The highest package is around INR 6-7 LPA, the lowest around INR 2-3 LPA, and the average package is INR 3-4 LPA. Top recruiters include NGOs, research firms, and think tanks. About 30% of students secure internships in organizations like PRS . Top roles include policy analyst, research associate, and public relations officer.
Infrastructure: There is excellent infrastructure, with well-equipped classrooms, a spacious library, and reliable WiFi. The campus is vibrant and conducive to learning. Hostel facilities are decent, offering comfortable accommodations, while the mess food is satisfactory with a variety of options. Medical facilities are available, and the college promotes sports like cricket and basketball, providing a well-rounded student experience.
Faculty: The faculty at Presidency College is helpful, highly qualified, and deeply knowledgeable. Our college has good faculty members, and it is worth studying.
Placements: Placements are available for arts and science department students. I am a student of the English department, there is very little scope for placements. I do not have any idea about placements as my department does not offer placements.
Infrastructure: Our university has very good infrastructure. There is Wi-Fi for students. Our classrooms are well-organised. Many classrooms are AV-enabled, which makes our learning better and more enjoyable. The library is vast and has many books on every subject. It is well-organised. The hostel in which I stay is quite good. The food served in the canteen is above average. We have sports equipment in the hostel. Medical facilities are available.
Faculty: Professors in our department are a blessing to us. They are not only adept in their areas but also pay attention to every single query of ours. Texts are well chosen. They include important texts and theories of literature for English honours students. It would be great if Jane Austen were included in our syllabus as well. Exams are quite good. The pass percentage in our department is 98%. The overall pass percentage in the university is 85%.
Other: I chose this course because I love studying English literature, and Presidency University offers a beautiful syllabus and excellent faculty. It would be great if we had more faculty members and different tutorials for weaker students. There are fests, events, and seminars, and we take part in them. I love to recite poems at these events.

Going to your dream college.
Placements: Placement opportunities around me are given for the science stream, where there are no such opportunities for the arts stream like sociology or political science. However, the placements offered are really great and helpful to students, as I have heard from my fellow seniors.
Infrastructure: Classroom and library facilities are just beyond expectations; they are extremely well managed, and well organize and help us learn and study in a very active way. The food available in the canteen is also go-in while prepared but a few are very oily, like a roll and a chicken roll.
Faculty: For faculty, members are very good and highly qualified. The teaching skills are extremely well organized and provide a lot of in-depth knowledge, which is enriching for students. The semester exams are moderately difficult; however, last-minute preparations wouldn't help score an SGPA of more than grade C or B.
