The University accepts CUET scores to admit students for the BA (Hons) programme. However, candidates seeking admission need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria as mentioned below. The BHU BA eligibility criteria is mentioned in the following table:

BHU has a dediacted placement cell which invites prominent companies for the placement drives. During the Banaras Hindu University 2025 placement drive, more than 65 companies participated. Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is one of the top-ranking universities in the country. In the NIRF rankings in 2023, BHU is ranked in fifth position under the "university" category. Moreover, as per the university NIRF report 2023, 480 UG (three-year) students were placed out of 3,564. The median package given to the placed candidates stood at INR 8 LPA. Admission to most of the BHU UG and PG courses is through CUET score. However, for some courses such as PhD, MFA, etc. the university has a separate admission criteria. Candidates must check the admission requirement for the preferred course before applying for admission.

Candidates may not be allowed to apply for another course at BHU in the next year. Aspirants may not be allowed to pursue two degree courses at the same time. The applications can be accepted for Banaras Hindu University Diploma or certificate courses. Students must cancel admission in the running course before applying for another course.
BHU cutoff 2026 was released for the 4th round for different All India quota categories for the UG-level courses. The round 4 cutoff ranged from 53 to 145 for the General AI category. Banaras Hindu University can be reached via air, rail, or road transport. The airport the nearest to BHU is Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport. It is around 30 KMs away from the campus.
There are three main railway stations in Varanasi, namely Varanasi Junction (Varanasi Cantt.), Banaras Station, and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction. Banaras Station is the closest to BHU. Those travelling by road can take NH-19 or NH-31. Various public transports run on these national highways. Within the city, autos, e-rickshaws, and cabs are easily available to reach the BHU campus.

BHU offers entrance-based admissions to all its UG and PG courses. To get admission to any UG and PG courses, it is compulsory to appear for the CUET-UG/ CUET-PG entrance exams. Further, the university also accepts other entrance exam such as NEET, GATE, CAT, etc. for admission to specific courses. Hence, candidates are required to appear for the accepted entrance-exam and also meet the course-specific eligibility for admission at BHU.

BHU BA Admission Dates 2025
The admission cycle for the UG programme commences with the release of CUET dates. As per past years' data, the application form for the entrance exam is out in February. Tabulated below are the BHU BA admission dates:

BHU accepts CUET scores for admission to UG and PG courses. The admissions are over within few weeks of CUET counselling. CUET-PG is usually held in March whereas CUET-UG takes place in May. Students must check the complete schedule for exact dates. CUET applications for the coming year will begin in February and continue till April.
Banaras Hindu University course admissions is entrance-based for most of the programmes. Thus, one-year dropper student can apply for the desired course, however, qualifying the respective entrance is the a must. Apart from this, aspirant should meet the course-specific minimum eligibility requirements as well.
Moreover, the student can be asked to submit an application regarding the reason for drop out. Sometimes even this is not required.
BHU BSc (H) admission is strictly entrance-based. Earlier, admission was through BHU-UET, however, now the students need to take the CUET-UG exam. BHU BA Admission 2025: How to Apply?
BHU is accepting CUET-UG entrance exam scores for admission to several undergraduate courses. For BHU course admission, aspirants must apply online to register themselves. Follow the step-wise admission process as given below:
1. BHU BA (Hons) Application Process 2025
The BHU application process is conducted online through the official website of NTA. For successful application submission, candidates need to pay an application fee. The fee for General category students is INR 750, INR 700 for OBC-NCL/EWS, and INR 650 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender. The application process consists of the following steps:
- Visit the official website of CUET-UG (cuet.samarth.ac.in) and click on the 'New Registration' tab and read the instructions carefully before proceeding.
- Fill out the application form with all the mandatory details such as personal, educational qualifications etc.
- Upload the scanned photograph and signature as per the prescribed specifications.
- Select the course and BHU as per your preference and pay the CUET application fee as mentioned above.
2. CUET Entrance Test
After successful registration, candidates need to download the admit card by visiting the official website of CUET and clicking on 'Download CUET Admit Card'. The next step is to appear for the entrance test as scheduled.
3. Register for CUET-UG Counselling through the BHU UG Admission Portal
After the declaration of the CUET result, students seeking admission to BHU undergraduate courses are required to register online for CUET-UG Counselling on the University UG admission portal. Candidates who appeared for the CUET-UG exam are only eligible to register themselves for the counselling process.

4. Counselling Round
Based on candidates' scores in CUET-UG, candidates are then required to participate in an online counselling process for provisional admission to the course(s) they have applied for. After that, the final seat allotment will be done by BHU. The total tuition fee ranges between INR 6.9K and INR 57.2K. This fee amount is taken from the official website. It is still subject to changes.

The required score would depend on the category, course and round. The BHU cutoff 2026 was released for the 4th round for admission to several PG-level courses. The cutoff was out for different AI quota categories.
For the General AI category, the round 4 cutoff ranged from 6 to 260. Hence, students who have a score of at least 6 could gain admission at BHU in the third round.

CUET score required for BHU admission depends on the candidate's selected course and reservation category. As per the CUET cut-off 2025, the closing CUET UG score for admission to most courses ranged from 500 to 600 for the General AI category. For some courses, such as BSc Computer Science & BSc Mathematics with Statistics, the closing score was between 400 and 500 for the General AI category. Cut-off scores for reserved categories like OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and EWS are usually 15-20% lower than the General AI category.

BHU cutoff 2025 was released for multiple specialisations. Based on the last round cutoff, the closing ranks varied between 1489 and 14447 for the General AI quota. So, if you belong to the General category, you must target a JEE Advanced cutoff rank of up to 14447 or below to secure a seat at IIT BHU for BTech admission. For top branches like CSE and Mathematics and Computing, the maximum required cutoff ranks for admission were 1489 and 1924 in the last round.

Yes, Banaras Hindu University accept CUET score for multiple UG courses, including BA (Hons), BCom (Hons) BSc (Hons), etc. The university is also offering admission to its PG courses based on merit in CUET-PG. Aspirants who meet the eligibility requirements can register on the BHU admission portal for counselling. The admission is done in order of merit based on the normalised score of the CUET (PG) and reservation policy as per the provisions laid down in the BHU PET Information Brochure.
Yes, Banaras Hindu University accepts CUET-UG entrance exam scores for admission to BA (Hons) course. Earlier, admission to the UG course was through BHU UET. Moreover, only the candidates who have valid CUET-UG scores become eligible to register for the counselling round. The CUET application process is carried out in online mode (cuet.samarth.ac.in). Further, NTA conducts CUET-UG 2024 entrance test. The exam is scheduled between May 15 and May 31.
Whether you can get BHU for the BAMS course based on the AYUSH results would depend entirely on the category you belong to. For the General and OBC AI categories, the last round cutoff was 30748 and 32844, respectively. Hence, admissions with a rank of 70K are not possible for these categories.
