Presidency University Kolkata released its provisional general merit list for UG admission on August 27. This was followed by the release of first provisional merit list for admission, based on which students will be able to confirm their seats. The university currently offers UG, PG and doctoral-level courses in the field of Arts and Science. For admission to the University, WBJEEB conducted PUMDET and PUBDET exams for PG and UG admission. However, from the academic batch of 2021-22, WBJEEB has cancelled both these exams and admission will strictly be based on merit scores obtained by the students at the undergraduate level and Class 12 for PG and UG admission, respectively.

One cannot get admission with 60% in class 12th  for admission one requires 70% or equivalent marks in class 12th.

The University has 17 departments that offers UG, PG and PhD programmes in Arts and Science specialisations. Admission to all the courses offered by the University is entrance-based every year. The candidate should appeared for their final BA (Hons) examination, but their final results have not been declared at the time of counselling, such candidates shall be given provisional admission on the basis of production of their previous mark sheets/grade cards of all previous semester/annual examinations at their Bachelor’s level. However, candidates are supposed to submit their final mark sheet till the mentioned date to ensure that they fulfil their minimum eligibility criteria for admission. Must secure the minimum required percentage of marks/CGPA in honours/major subject as per the following table in their BA (Hons) examination for final and confirmed admission.

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts the Presidency University Bachelor's Degree Entrance Test (PUBDET) in order to shortlist aspirants for admission in BSc (honours) programmes offered at Presidency University, Kolkata. To know the eligibility for PUBDET exam, students can check the points mentioned below:

• Candidates should have cleared higher secondary examination (Class 12) that is conducted by CBSE, West Bengal or equivalent exam, not before 2020.
• The candidate must pass Class 12 with at least five recognised subjects, including English language and excluding Environmental Science. The aggregate is to be calculated in the best four recognised subjects.

No, in order to get admission for MA at Presidency University, Kolkata the student have to pass PUMDET entrance exam. PUMDET 2024 application process is yet to start. The exam conducting body will release the PUMDET exam schedule soon at the official website of the exam. However, PUMDET 2023 application process was held between January 31 to February 21 on the official website of the exam. For this academic session, once the application form is released, candidates will be able to apply for PUMDET exam by visiting the official website of the WBJEE.  The PUMDET application process will be held online.
