In order to get admission at Presidency University, Kolkata for MA course, the candidate should have pass PUMDET entrance exam. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts PUMDET to shortlist aspirants for admission in MA programmes offered at Presidency University, Kolkata. Presidency University Master Degree Entrance Test (PUMDET) comprises separate entrance tests for admission in Science and humanities courses. When applying for admission through PUMDET, candidates are supposed to apply for a maximum of two subjects. 

No, in order to get admission for MA at Presidency University, Kolkata the student have to pass PUMDET entrance exam. PUMDET 2024 application process is yet to start. The exam conducting body will release the PUMDET exam schedule soon at the official website of the exam. However, PUMDET 2023 application process was held between January 31 to February 21 on the official website of the exam. For this academic session, once the application form is released, candidates will be able to apply for PUMDET exam by visiting the official website of the WBJEE.  The PUMDET application process will be held online. The candidate have cleared (not before 2019) or appeared for BA (Hons) examination in 2023 from any recognised University. Appeared for BA  (Hons) exam and should have their final results at the time of counselling and produce their original mark sheets/grade cards of all semester/annual examinations passed at the Bachelor’s level. Such candidates must fulfil the academic eligibility norms for their applied courses tabled below for admission.

The candidate should appeared for their final BA (Hons) examination, but their final results have not been declared at the time of counselling, such candidates shall be given provisional admission on the basis of production of their previous mark sheets/grade cards of all previous semester/annual examinations at their Bachelor’s level. However, candidates are supposed to submit their final mark sheet till the mentioned date to ensure that they fulfil their minimum eligibility criteria for admission. Must secure the minimum required percentage of marks/CGPA in honours/major subject as per the following table in their BA (Hons) examination for final and confirmed admission.

The common eligibility criteria for Presidency University, Kolkata MA History is graduation with 50% aggregate. The university offers eight MA specialisations. The common eligibility criteria for all MA specialisations is Graduation with 50% aggregate. 

Students who are looking for admissions at the UG and PG level course, the student have to appear the entrance exams. For UG course, Presidency University, Kolkata has PUBDET and for PG courses, it has PUMDET. Since, the university is adhered to the entrance exam scores, there are no any other medium to get admission apart from this.

Presidency University Kolkata released its provisional general merit list for UG admission on August 27. This was followed by the release of first provisional merit list for admission, based on which students will be able to confirm their seats. The university currently offers UG, PG and doctoral-level courses in the field of Arts and Science. For admission to the University, WBJEEB conducted PUMDET and PUBDET exams for PG and UG admission. However, from the academic batch of 2021-22, WBJEEB has cancelled both these exams and admission will strictly be based on merit scores obtained by the students at the undergraduate level and Class 12 for PG and UG admission, respectively.

One cannot get admission with 60% in class 12th  for admission one requires 70% or equivalent marks in class 12th.
