PUMDET 2026 Counselling – The exam authority WBJEEB will start the PUMDET 2026 counselling after the results are announced. The counselling for PUMDET 2026 is expected to happen around late August and September 2026, though the exact dates come later. During the counselling time, they check all your documents for seat allotment at Presidency University, so you need to bring your admit card, rank card and whatever papers they ask for.
The whole PUMDET counselling process 2026 mainly depends on the General Merit Rank (GMR) shown on your rank card. But if any student is found not eligible when they check the documents, the application gets cancelled even if the student has a PUMDET 2026 rank. After the counselling steps are done, the seat allotment lists will be put up on the WBJEEB website. You can read more details below.

PUMDET Counselling 2026 - Things to Keep in Mind
Some points that candidates must keep in mind during PUMDET 2026 counselling are mentioned below.
- The credentials of candidates who are allowed for PUMDET counselling and admission are checked at the counselling center, and it must be done on the time and date they give you. You have to come for counselling / seat allotment with all your original papers, and this is the same rule for both PU quota students and non-PU quota students.
- The PU quota is only for students who pass their final BA/BSc Honours degree from Presidency University in 2026 through the regular exam, and it’s given strictly by merit. Admission through the non-PU quota depends on the rank you get in PUMDET 2026, so they check that list.
- If any PU quota seats stay empty, then those seats will be changed into non-PU quota seats. The counselling and admission runs step by step according to the rank order, so you need to come exactly on the given date and time only. They can’t let you choose another day or another time, no matter what.
- You have to come in person for counselling because no one else is allowed to do it for you, and they won’t accept someone appearing on behalf of the candidate.
