Commonly asked questions
On B.E. / B.Tech Admissions
Q:   What is rank required for CSE in LNMIIT?
A:

To secure admission in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) at LNMIIT, candidates typically aim for specific ranks or percentiles in the JEE (Advanced) or JEE (Main) exams. Specifically, to be eligible for the first semester, candidates should have achieved a JEE (Advanced) All India Rank (AIR) up to 12000 or a JEE (Main) Percentile of 97 and above. This ensures a competitive edge in the admission process. For those aspiring to join from the second semester onwards, a consistent academic performance is required. They must maintain a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 8.50 or above and ensure no backlog exists. This criterion underscores the importance of maintaining academic excellence throughout the course of study.

Q:   How can I get admission in Lnmiit Jaipur for BTech?
A:

To secure admission in LNMIIT Jaipur for BTech, candidates must fulfill certain eligibility criteria. They should have appeared or be appearing in JEE Main 2024 and passed Class 10 and 12 with at least 60% aggregate marks. Additionally, candidates must be Indian citizens and have secured a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in Class 12. Meeting these requirements ensures eligibility for admission to LNMIIT Jaipur's BTech programme.

Q:   What is the procedure to get BTech admission at The LNM Institute of Information Technology Jaipur?
A:

To get BTech admission at The LNM Institute of Information Technology Jaipur (LNMIIT), you must follow the following procedure:

  1. Appear for the JEE Main exam. JEE Main is the primary mode of admission to the BTech programme at LNMIIT.
  2. Register for the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) counseling. CSAB is responsible for allocating seats to students in various engineering colleges in India based on their JEE Main scores.
  3. Fill out the CSAB application form. In the application form, you will need to provide your JEE Main score, other relevant information, and your preferences for colleges and branches.
  4. Attend the CSAB counseling rounds. In the counseling rounds, you will be allotted a seat in a college and branch based on your JEE Main score and your preferences.
  5. Accept the seat and pay the admission fees. If you are allotted a seat in LNMIIT, you must accept the seat and pay the admission fees to confirm your seat.

Important points to keep in mind:

  • The cutoff percentiles for admission to LNMIIT vary depending on the branch you are applying for. In general, the cutoff percentiles for the top branches, such as Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), are very high.
  • If you are not allotted a seat in LNMIIT in the first round of counseling, you can participate in the subsequent rounds. However, the chances of getting a seat in LNMIIT decrease in the subsequent rounds.
  • You can also apply for direct admission to LNMIIT if you are one of the top 2 board toppers of all the Central and State recognised boards in India who publish authorized Merit List indicating ranks. To be eligible for direct admission, candidates must have passed the Class 12th examination with an aggregate of at least 60% marks or equivalent grade.
Q:   How does LNMIIT accommodate students seeking lateral entry into its BTech programmes?
A:

LNMIIT facilitates admissions through the Lateral Entry mode, enabling candidates to enroll directly in the 2nd or 3rd semesters of their selected B.Tech programs. This pathway caters to individuals with pre-existing academic backgrounds or experiences, offering them a chance to commence their studies at an advanced stage within the institute.

Good infrastructure and decent placements with supportive faculty
Placements: 92% of students are placed. The median package is around 12 LPA, while the highest varies every year from 1.2 crores to 70 LPA. Major companies like Google, Facebook, Meta, Dell, and all other known companies visit our campus every year. Common roles include software engineers, data analysts, etc.
Infrastructure: Well-equipped classrooms, decent-speed Wi-Fi, a modern lab, and a central library with both physical and digital resources. Hostels are comfortable with basic amenities. The mess provides hygienic and decent food, and there are canteens for extra options. Medical facilities are available on campus, along with sports grounds and courts for physical activities.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. The course curriculum is regularly updated and includes industry-relevant topics, internships, and projects, helping students become job-ready. Semester exams are moderately difficult and focus on both theory and application.

A very satisfactory experience. The campus is also expanding.
Placements: My branch is ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering). Around 85% of students who apply for placements get on-campus placements each year. The average package is 11.65 LPA, and the highest being around 47 LPA as of 2024. Some of the top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Google, Intuit, Flipkart, AMD, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities are very decent compared to other colleges. Central AC facilities and some hostels even have AC facilities. Sports ground for football, cricket, basketball courts, jogging track, etc. The food is also very decent and the campus is covered with greenery all around making it a serene environment to walk in. Classrooms and libraries are also very comfortable to study in.
Faculty: Faculty members are decent. Teaching is nice, and feedback is taken after every semester to improve the quality of education. The curriculum is better than many NITs and IITs, and practical skills are taught from the very first year with remarkable knowledgeable project opportunities.
Other: The events and fests are solely organized by students, which is great to enhance leadership qualities among operation, management, accountability, and other skills. The course offers a multitude of options, being a connection between the mechanical and CSE branches, offering insights on multiple aspects of both courses.

LNMIIT- a brief overview of placements, campus, and students.
Placements: The training and placement cell works very hard to get students placed. The highest package was 53 LPA, the average was 15 LPA, and the lowest was 6 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Media.net, Tekion Corp, DE Shaw, Deloitte, Samsung, and Speak. The percentage of students who got placed was 86%. For internships, this number was close to 7-8%. The top roles offered are SDE and data scientist.
Infrastructure: There are Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms and a library, all of which are fully air-conditioned. Hostel facilities are decent, but the quality of food in the mess is not very good. Food options in the canteen are limited. Medical facilities are available 24/7 with free medicine. Sports and games facilities are good, including 2 basketball courts, one tennis court, a volleyball court, a squash court, and more.
Faculty: Teachers are easily available in their cabins, are well-qualified, and have a deep understanding of their subjects. The teaching quality is not very good. The course curriculum is very relevant and is on par with IITs. It makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are really difficult, you need to study at least 2 weeks before the exam to pass. The passing percentage varies between 70-80% but can go as low as 50%.
Other: I chose the CSE course here because I did not get circuital branches in the top NITs and CSE in the top 5 IIITs. The best things about the Computer Science department are the excellent curriculum and decent placements. I wish the exams were more relevant to what is taught to us. Events are nice, there are three fests. The campus crowd is awesome, but the surroundings are not very good. The locality is a village. There are BPL, JEE Adv rank 12k, and CGPA 9.25 scholarships. Extracurricular activities are moderately organized by cultural, technical, and sports student-driven clubs.

Positive: Flexible course with good opportunities to teach. Balanced course with decent placements.
Placements: Batch: 2021-2025, B.Teach in electronics and communication engineering. About 80% of registered students placed. The highest package offered was 45 LPA. The average package stood at 10 LPA and the lowest package was at 14 LPA. The major roles were embedded systems, software development, and VLSI design. Overall the placements were good.
Infrastructure: The college has dedicated labs for each course of the branch. Labs are equipped with essential instruments. The campus is completely equipped with Wi-Fi in all the areas. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and audio systems. The library is well-stocked with technical books and journals. Hostels are decent with double and single occupancy good Wi-Fi connectivity and centralized air conditioning. Mess food is quite good and the canteens are open till midnight. The medical center is on the campus with a presidential doctor. Sports complex with cricket, football ground, tennis and badminton court.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Many professors have completed their PhD's from IIT's and IISc's. Many are also actively involved in research areas. Most faculty are approachable and supportive when needed. The course curriculum is well structured and is updated regularly to align with the industry standards.
Other: The college has a peaceful, green campus with a vibrant student community. Events like Vivacity (cultural fest), Plinth (TechFest), TEDx, and E-Summit are highlights of campus life. There is strong participation in clubs, hackathons, and sports. The campus is located slightly outside Jaipur but the college provides regular bus service to the main city.

College Insights LNMIIT.
Placements: About 85% of students are placed according to the college website. The average package is around 12.78 LPA and the median stays at about 10 LPA. Major companies are Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Deloitte, and Goldman Sachs. Off-campus placements are also good enough.
Infrastructure: Lecture halls and the library have good infrastructure, and the library contains books from every domain, although it is not big enough. Wi-Fi facility is available everywhere, including in lecture halls, hostels, the library, etc. Labs are good quality equipment and are well furnished too. Sports facilities are good and well maintained. The mess and canteen areas are clean and tidy. Bus facilities are available for students who want to travel to the city, as the college is located on the outskirts rather than in the city.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, highly qualified professionals, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is okayish and may vary from person to person. The curriculum is vast and diverse. Academics at this college are not that easy as when compared to other colleges, so one needs to be serious about quizzes and exams conducted.
Other: There are three fests organized by this college, namely Plinth, Vivacity, and Desportivos. The crowd is good, and the coding culture of this college is not that bad.
