University of Hyderabad admission to most of the courses is based on the entrance exam conducted by the UoH. In addition to this, it also accepts several national-level entrance exams for admission to MBA, MCA M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes. While for MBA, the university accepts admission only through its own entrance exam, for various UG and PG courses, the university accepts admission through CUET UG and CUET-PG entrance exams.

Because, as per the GATE elgibility criteria, there is no need to have a certain percentage or marks in class 12th to be eligible for GATE exam. 1. Candidates must have a graduate degree in engineering /technology/science/architecture/ arts and humanities from a recognised institute or university. 
2. Candidates in their final year or pre-final year are also eligible for the GATE 2025.
3. Candidates who have obtained or are pursuing their qualifying degree from other countries than India—The aspirants must be currently studying in the third year or higher or have completed their bachelor's degree (of at least three years) in the relevant field or subject.
