UOU Uttrakhand open University offers courses in UG, PG, Diploma, PhD and Certificate level through the medium of open and distant learning. The University offers courses such as MBA/PGDM, BSc, MSc, BEd, BA, MSW, MCom, BCom, MCA and many more, through various schools. For PG level courses, such as M.A., MSc, MBA, candidates must have passed graduation with minimum 50% aggreagte. Selection for majority of the programme, is based on merit in the last qualifying examination. However, MBA admission is entrance-based (MAT/CAT/university level exam). 

UG courses, including Bcom and BSc requires Class 12 from a recognised board. Final admission is merit-based at Uttarakhand Open University (UOU), Haldwani.

UOU offers courses in UG, PG, UG Diploma and Certificate levels for the duration ranging from 6 months to 4 years in full-time, distance and open learning. The University offers admission to various UG level courses on the basis of Class 12 qualification. Whereas, for PG level courses, candidates will be required to secure a valid score in graduation and secure valid entrance scores in accepted entrance exams. 

After the application process, candidates will be selected based on valid merit and entrance qualification scores. Post selection, candidates will receive counselling and for final admission a merit list will be released by the University. For final admission, candidates must pay the fees and confirm a seat.

UOU offers BA, BBA, BSc, BCom, BCA, etc., at the UG level and MA, MSc, MA, MCA and MCom at the PG level.
