Overall, college is good, and the alumni network is good because of its legacy.
Placements: In CSE, the average package is around 6 LPA, but in core branches, it is much better. As Burla is situated near many core companies, choosing core branches like Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is totally worth it. Mechanical Engineering has almost 100% placement.
Infrastructure: Sometimes the food is not good, but the rest is good. The infrastructure is also good. We have a swimming pool, gym, library, and auditorium, but you have to manage somehow. At this price, I think VSSUT Burla is worth it. You can consider taking admission if your percentile is not great.
Faculty: Teaching quality is average. Some teachers are understanding, while some are very strict. Semester exams are relatively easy, but the marking is very tough. The evaluation completely depends on the professor. If you get a strict professor in your department, it can be challenging.
Other: College is overall fine. Value for money, but the main problem is the location, as it is in a tier-3 city. It lacks opportunities somehow, but the infrastructure is improving.

Is VSSUT, Burla, actually good?
Placements: Mainly in Mechanical Engineering, the maximum number of students is placed across all the branches. But placement-wise, every branch goes to 60-70 percent placed. In this college, the main attraction for placement is all of the core branches like Mechanical, Electrical and Civil. Most students get internships, mainly in core companies.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs are well maintained, but the machinery is in pretty old condition and is working fine. The library facility is decent with internet and air-conditioned rooms. Hostels are packed with students in each room, as there is a scarcity of rooms, mainly for the freshers or new students. The mess facility is pretty horrible, as there are regular disputes among the catering and boarders, and the mess food is bad.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified from different big institutes of India and the world, and are very experienced. The course isn't very relevant to the new generation, but it does make students industry-ready. Semester exams are on the moderate side, and the pass percentage is more than 80 percent in the first year.

Review of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology.
Placements: It's pretty good this year, 55 out of 64 are placed. As our branch Metallurgical and Materials Engineering comprises metals, therefore steel and aluminium companies mostly take a lot of our students and give good packages. Companies like Aditya Birla, Shyam Steel, and JSW recruit.
Infrastructure: Food quality deteriorates sometimes, but we have our personal basketball court, we just need proper coaches to teach us. The library is good, but books need to be updated, and our hostel never allows us to visit the library, unlike in IITs and NITs. Wi-Fi was available earlier, but now it's not, so we have to use our own internet.
Faculty: Exams are not that difficult if one studies, makes notes, or at least goes through the previous year's questions, then they are pretty easy and have a good level. Some teachers even make questions according to GATE, which is helpful for us, but it varies branch-wise too.

It is one of the well-known universities with bare minimum facilities.
Placements: Nearly 80% of students get placed in our course. The highest package is 12 LPA. The lowest package is 4 LPA. The average package ranges from 5-6 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Jindal Steel, Vedanta, IMFA, Reliance Foundation, etc. Nearly 100% of students get multiple internship opportunities in multiple companies.
Infrastructure: Hostels are average, and living conditions are not that bad. Basic facilities are available there. 4 students in a room, which leads to a lack of privacy and unnecessary disturbances. The quality of food is not good, so I'll rate it 2.5 out of 5. Proper sports facilities are not available.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching is good. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are a little difficult, but most of the questions are from class notes and the explanations themselves, so it helps more students to pass.

The college has average infrastructure and placements.
Placements: For VSSUT (2025 batch) 80-95 percent of students got placed. The highest package offered is 24 LPA, the average is 6 LPA-7 LPA, and the lowest is 2.7 LPA. Recruiters are Amazon, Tata Steel, JSW, Deloitte, and Maruti Suzuki. 80 percent of students got internships in Green Ride and Tata Steel. Roles offered are Software Engineer, GET, and Data Analyst.
Infrastructure: The college has 1 Gbps Wi-Fi, more than 70 classrooms (15 smart classrooms). There are more than 90 PCs, and a 70,000-volume library. The hostel has 12 halls (6 boys/6 girls) with LAN. 4 meals per day are provided. The quality is average with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options. There is an on-campus dispensary, a 400m track, and a gym.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified (PhDs from IITs/NITs). They are generally supportive and knowledgeable. The curriculum relevant for GATE and core jobs includes practical labs and assignments to improve industry readiness. They conduct mid-semester (30) and end-semester (50). Exams difficulty is moderate. The pass percentage is high 85-95 percent.
Other: I want to be a machine learning engineer so I joined this course. I wish I were a good engineer. College fests are beautiful and there are a lot of people there.

I’m satisfied with the fee structure.
Placements: This year, there is a good placement rate for the CSE and IT branch students, but I think the packages offered are a bit low but it is manageable. For internship purpose you have to take care of it. Individual college helps, but not that high.
Infrastructure: As a 1st year college facility, is above average classroom and lab facilities, which are good, and a new academic building is under construction. But due to higher admissions this year 1st year hostel is a bit congested, but I had heard that the 2nd year hostel is good.
Faculty: The 1st year course structure is a bit old, I think, as there are too many other subjects being taught to CSE student but from 2nd year it is branch specific, and semester exams are of above medium difficulty level. Most teachers are qualified and well-experienced.
