Yes, South Asian Delhi University provides direct admission to PhD courses. Candidates opting for direct admission are exempted from appearing for the entrance test. South Asian University offers financial support and scholarship opportunities to its students. Scholarships offered are merit-based, contingent on the rank in the entrance test. A restricted number of freeships are available to students who cannot manage to pay the course fees, and a few campus jobs are available under the Work-Earn program. SAU Delhi President Scholarship
There are two president scholarships for each master's/ MTech/ BTech programme, one for each Indian and non-Indian student.
- SAU President Scholarship is given to those who have secured the highest rank in the SAU Entrance Test in the respective category of the programme.
- SAU President Scholarships for MTech/ BTech students is decided at the end of the first semester. These will be given to those who will secure the highest rank at the end of the first semester examinations in the respective category of the programme.
- From the second year onwards, SAU President Scholarships are given to those students who secure the highest rank till the end of the previous year in the respective category of the programme.
Merit Scholarship
There are two merit scholarships for each master's/ MTech/ BTech programme, one for each Indian and non-Indian student.
- These scholarships are given to the Indian and non-Indian students who have secured the highest rank in the respective merit list of the SAU Entrance Test among the remaining students after awarding the SAU President scholarship and the SAARC-India Silver Jubilee Scholarship.

SAU renews freeship for the second year and subsequent years provided the awardees have secured a minimum CGPA of 4.5 for the science streams (Biotechnology, Computer Science and Mathematics) and 4.0 for the other streams (Economics, Sociology, International Relations and Law) at the end of the previous year.
South Asian University has specified a refund policy for UG and PG courses. Students who wish to get refund need to fill out the google form available on the university's website. Below are the details for fee refund policy:
- If a candidate withdraws from the course up to the commencement of the Monsoon Semester, he or she will be eligible for refund of all deposits/fees paid after a deduction of the admission fee of USD 200
- Candidates withdrawing within 15 days of commencement of monsoon semester will be eligible for 50% refund of semester fee and 75% of security deposit. Admission fee and student-aid fund shall not be refunded
- Candidates withdrawing after 15 days of the commencement of the Monsoon Semester, will not be eligible for any refund of deposits/fees paid except 75% of security deposit
- In case of a candidate given admission pending the declaration of his/her result and if the candidate is unable to fulfill the admission criteria on declaration of the result, he or she will be entitled to refund of full semester fee and 75% of the security deposit. No refund of admission and student-aid fund will be made.
The refund is processed after the admission registrations are over or after on month of the commencement of the monsoon semester, whichever is later.
Out of the total intake, the university reserves at least 4% of seats for applicants from Afghanistan, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka provided they fulfill admission criteria. A minimum of 10% of seats each are reserved for applicants from Pakistan, Bangladesh and non-SAARC regions. Below is the course-wise intake for SAU Delhi:

SAU Delhi has a policy with regard to awarding freeships to students from economically weaker families. There are six Freeships with stipend for each Master/ MTech/ BTech programme of SAU. Out of these, three are given to Indian students and three to non-Indian students who have applied for the same and whose annual family income is below the specified amount, which would be determined by the Scholarship/Freeship Award Committee from time to time.
South Asian University Delhi considers the merit of the candidates in the last qulifying exam and their entrance-exam scores for admission. The basic eligibility is Class 12 for UG courses and graduation for PG programmes. Below is course-wise eligibility for SAU Delhi:

SAU Delhi conducts an entrance exam for admission to LLM course. The entrance test is conducted for a two-hour duration and consists of 70 multiple-choice questions. Besides General Knowledge, Political Science, Geography, General Science and Civics of the Class 12 level, the entrance test also covers questions of LLB level. Aspirants with a valid score in CUET-PG can also get admission in the LLM programme.
