CA Inter Jan 2026 toppers list is OUT, along with exam result at icai.nic.in. ICAI has announced the names, marks and percentage of top 3 AIR students who have scored the highest marks in CA Intermediate Group 1, Group 2 and Both Groups. Kanhiya Lal has topped CA Inter Jan 2026 exam with 84.67% (AIR 1), followed by Fathima Shehza K with 84% (AIR 2) and Vanya Bandal with 83% (AIR 3). The rest of the candidates can check the merit list for their AIR ranks.
CA Intermediate is a tough level and it takes multiple attempts to clear it. There are two groups in CA Inter and candidates have to clear both groups. The overall pass percentage of CA Intermediate exam is 10-20 %. The CA Intermediate January 2025 pass percentage for both Groups is 14.05 %. For Group I, the pass percentage is 14.17% and for Group 2, it is 22.16%.

CA exam pass percentage is usually low for all course levels. It doesn’t go over 25 percent in any exam session. The CA Foundation exam has the highest pass percentage because it is easier than rest of the two course level. However, CA Inter and CA Final pass percentage is very low. - CA Inter (Nov 2023) pass percentage: Group I : 16.78%, Group II: 19.18 %, both groups: 9.73%
- CA Final (Nov 2023) pass percentage: Group 1: 9.46%, Group II: 21.6 %, both groups: 9.42%

To check the result cum scorecard, candidates have to log in to their ICAI account. They can do so by using the login ID and password created at the time of exam form filling. Candidates can also check the merit list of any course through the same process.

The CA result, scorecard or merit list can be accessed online only. Apart from direct download via login, there is a provision to obtain CA result via email. The provision of obtaining results via email was introduced in 2022. To get result via email, candidates have to submit a request on the ICAI website as per the schedule announced by the exam authorities.
These processes have been put in place for the convenience of candidates as a soft copy of the scorecard is saved in the student dashboard and they can download it as soon as it is announced or whenever they need. Online announcement of result is quick and safe.
Yes, the candidates can apply for scorecard verification after the result announcement. The facility is available for all three course levels. The window for rechecking of a particular CA course opens a day after announcement of the result. Candidates can apply for scorecard verification within a month of result announcement along with a demand draft of INR 200 in favour of the Secretary, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, payable at New Delhi. The fee is non-refundable and the result of rechecking will be final. Students can’t apply for rechecking more than once.
The ICAI provides facility of marks verification to candidates. CA Intermediate students who wish to get their answer copies reevaluated, by applying through marks verification process. The window to apply for marks verification is opened a day after the result announcement.

Minimum score requirement to pass CA Intermediate is 40% per paper and 50% overall. If a candidate scores 60% or more in one subject and fails another subject, he/she can apply for exemption, if all requirements are met.

Yes, ICAI CA Intermediate exam is tough. There are total 6 papers, divided into 2 groups, in CA Inter exam. The syllabus includes topics related to Accounting, Taxation, Corporate Law, etc., which are tough to crack. The pass percentage of CA Intermediate exams is very low - 10%.
