What is CSEET Exam?

CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) is the qualifying entrance test for registration to the CS Executive programme. Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) conducts CSEET for students seeking admission to Company Secretaryship Course. CSEET tests the aptitude for the Company Secretary profession. ICSI conduct CSEET examination for three hours per subject. Candidates have to attempt questions in given time. Candidates will not be given extra time under any condition. The question paper will be submitted once the duration is over. ICSI conducts the CSEET exam in offline mode.

A: 

Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test is conducted four times a year. Candidates preparing for CS course will have to appear for CSEET to qualify for CS Executive programme of CS course. The admission process is as follows:

CSEET 2026 Application Form

Candidates desiring to be a part of CS course must register for the CSEET exam. As per ICSI revised guidelines, the CSEET registration remains valid for 3 years from the month of registration. The CSEET 2026 application form is available in online mode only. ICSI is accepting application forms for February 2027 session. To fill out the registration form, candidates must follow steps below:

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for CSEET?

Candidates willing to appear for the CS Executive Entrance Test CSEET must ensure to fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria before filling the application form. Check below to know the CSEET eligibility criteria: 1. Candidates applying for CSEET must not be less than 17 years in age as on the date of application. 2. Candidates must have complete class 12th or equivalent from a recognised board. 3. CSEET exam is conducted in remote proctored mode. The exam is not held at exam centres. Hence, ICSI has not updated or released the CSEET exam centres list. Candidates can take CSEET exam from their home.

Q:   I have submitted the CSEET application. Can I change the details in application form now?
A: 
Once the CSEET application form is submitted along with the payment of application fee, candidates can edit or modify the information provided they will have to pay the fee for each change. Candidates are advised to fill the details carefully in the CSEET application form. Change in the Name, Photograph and Signature shall be a paid service as per the details given below: 1. Change of name- INR 200 2. Change in photograph- INR 100 3. Change in signature- INR 100 The change in the name of the student will be accepted only on receipt/submission of either of the following documents: 1. Gazette Notification 2. ICSI CSEET exam will now be held in offline mode from June session onwards. Students will have to report at alloted exam centre on day of examination. The admit card for CSEET will be issued 10 days before the exam date.

CSEET total marks are 400 marks. The question is divided into four sections of 100 marks each:

CS Executive Entrance Test CSEET pass percentage refers the percentage of students who have cleared the CSEET exam for the particular session. ICSI releases the CSEET pass percentage for each session soon after the declaration of results. Earlier authorities released the CSEET January 2025 pass percentage soon after the declaration of results. The pass percentage for CSEET 2025 January session is 72.58%.

There are no prescribed number of attempts for CSEET. Candidates can appear for the CSEET exam in multiple attempts until qualified. The validity of the CSEET scorecard is one year. ICSI conducts CSEET examination three times in a year, i.e., February, June and October. Candidates can choose to appear for any of the three sessions. However, candidates must stay updated with the cut off dates of CSEET examination.

If a candidate has not cleared class 12th exmaination, he/she will not be able to apply for CSEET exam. As per ICSI CSEET exam criteria, candidates must be appearing or passed in class 12th examination or equivalent to apply for exam. Candidates will be required to submit class 12th marksheet while applying for CS Executive examination.

Q:   Will I receive the physical copy of CSEET scorecard?

Candidates will not be issued any physical copy of the CSEET scorecard. On declaration of CSEET results candidates must login at the official website of ICSI ICET- (icsi (dot) edu) and download and take the print of the ICSI CSEET scorecard immediately. Candidates must check for the following details that will be mentioned on the ICSI CSEET scorecard: 1. Admission number 2. Name of the candidate 3. Result date 4. Roll number 5. ICSI will declare the CSEET result 10 days after exam is conducted. Candidates can download the scorecard from the official website of ICSI. Candidates must enter the login credentials to view the scorecard.

Q:   How will the live proctors control the online CSEET exam?
A: 

Live proctors will watch the CSEET exam online. The process will be coducted as:

  1. Proctors will be able to chat with the exam taker in an active chat session.
  2. Proctors can also communicate with the test takers through a microphone or camera.
  3. During the exam, the activities of the candidate and screen will be captured frequently.
  4. Each session is finished either by the test taker, automatically after the end of the allotted time, or by the proctor. All audio, video, text messages and recorded events are saved in the system and are attached to the session protocol.
  5. At the end of the exam, the proctor will leave a remark (positive or negative) about the candidate. If there are no violations during the exam, then the proctor will mark the candidate positive.
Q:   How can I contact helpdesk/live proctor in case of any issue/problem during the CSEET exam?
A: 

Test taker can use their phone/mobile to contact the ICSI helpdesk for any issues and get help with login. Once the candidate is logged in and the test process begins the student cannot use their phones/mobiles. 

During the CSEET exam, candidates should use only the chat box to contact the online invigilator. The use of mobile phones and any other electronic items during the test is strictly not allowed. If found, the candidate will be disqualified from the exam.

Q:   What original documents are required along with the CSEET admit card to keep handy for appearing in Offline Mode?
A: 

CSEET exam will be held in offline mode. On the day of the examination, candidates should keep with them the following documents handy for identity verification, failing which candidates shall not be allowed to take the exam. Candidates will not be allowed to keep any other document with them other than CSEET admit card and original identity card.

Q:   Can I appear for CSEET mock test through mobile?
A: 

CSEET 2026 mock tests are accessible through mobiles, however, candidates are advised to take the mock test through desktop/laptop to check the compatibility of the hardware. Candidates will not be permitted to appear for the CSEET exam through mobile on the day of examination. Candidates appearing for the CSEET exam through mobile will not have actual exam experience that is intended to be provided to the candidates. Candidates accessing the CSEET mock test through mobile will not have real exam day experience, scroll multiple times to read the question paper, and becomes difficult to read. Hence, for better experience and to know the compatibility of the desktop or laptop candidates must not take the CSEET mock test through mobile.

No, it is not mandatory to pass in CSEET mock tests. These tests are provided for candidates to get a clear picture of their preparation level and make them understand the types of questions in exam.

Q:   Is it bad if I fail the CSEET mock test?
A: 

It is bad if you fail your CSEET mock test, as ICSI releases these tests only a week before the actual exam date and now you don't have enough time to work more on your preparation.

But, you should not loose hope as it may be due to the nervousness of the exam. Focus on important topics and keep calm during the exam. Even if you fail this exam, you can appear for the next session.

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India does not release the CSEET toppers list. ICSI prescribes the qualifying marks, candidates meeting the passing marks are qualified to appear for the next level of CS course examination.
