St. Xavier's has got a brand, with an AIR 4th, but it is like any normal private college.
Placements: In the multimedia industry, lots of companies offer jobs, but if you are an extraordinary student, then big MNCs like Google will hire you. The starting salary offered to freshers is not much good, it is around 20,000.
Infrastructure: In the multimedia department, there are 3 computer labs fully furnished with Apple IMac systems. Each student has his own working space, and the labs are fully air-conditioned. Other than this, we have 1 animation lab (AC) where we learn classical animation on light boards. The light board room is not so clean because it is a busy room. Other than this, we have lecture rooms (AC) and many small classrooms without AC, but they will be installed soon. The canteen is big and beautiful, and the quality of food is good, but there are less varieties available. We have an infirmary for medical assistance to the students. We have different societies. For sports, we have a sports department which takes selection for different games, especially for cricket, football, basketball etc. If you want to join sports in the college, don't wait for any notice on the college website. Just visit the college to get information for trials and selection because this department is very careless about this.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified, and some of them are very popular in the world in their fields. They treat students like their friends, and this is the good part of it. Whatever problems you have, just go to them and tell them they will listen to you and help you for sure if they can. Multimedia consists of 3 main subjects, and they are animation, graphic design and film studies. The course is integrated, so we have 3 years of B.Sc. in multimedia and 2 years of specialisation in particular fields, animation, graphic design and film studies. This course is not theory-based, and it is fully practical and depends upon your skills. The better skills you have, the better you get marks. Passing is easy, but if you're in this course because of your passion, then you must work hard.
Other: I chose this course because I was confused about my studies, and I wanted to explore animation and graphic design, so I decided that this could be great for me to pursue. The best thing is that you can explore all three fields. First, you can get the basic knowledge of all the 3 and then choose whatever is the best for you. The first year is very boring because the speed of teaching is very poor. There is a famous event known as Xavotsav, and that is held every year.

I love the college because I have grown as a person to some extent.
Placements: Placements in our college are good enough. Lots of MNCs come, and students get the opportunity to attend the placement drives. There is a placement cell in the campus which guides students in getting jobs. Companies like TCS, IBM, Capgemini, etc. are a part of the various companies which offer jobs to students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of college is good enough for the department of multimedia. There is a big air-conditioned lecture room, two air-conditioned lightbox rooms which contain at least 80 lightboxes in total. There are two air-conditioned computer labs which consist of at least 90 mac PCs in total for the children to avail. Other than all these, the classrooms and labs consist of projectors, speakers and microphones, and they also have the latest Sony DSLR camera, tripods, recorders, and movie cameras for photography.
Faculty: The faculty members are very caring, supportive, and highly educated. We have professors from various fields who are experts in it. The teaching quality is fine. The course is new, so the professors are working and trying to find out ways to make changes so that we know the beat of it.
Other: We have our departmental fest called Elan. We have Xavotsov which is the college fest and the greatest of all events conducted.

My experience so far at Xavier's.
Placements: Companies like Wipro and Cognizant among others come for campusing. Designations of graphic designing, web developing are offered. This year, 4 students from the current 4th year were selected for Cognizant from our department. We get regular notifications from the placement cell which is always active.
Infrastructure: Speaking of our department exclusively, we have air conditioned classrooms and computer labs equipped with macintoshes. Food served at canteen is quite okay and reasonably priced as well. Overall, the quality of the infrastructure is very good, and there is regular renovation of our facilities whenever required.
Faculty: The course has been recently changed from a 4 year graduation program to a 3+2 post-graduation program. We've learnt variety of subjects starting from photography to script writing, from graphic designing to 3d animation and much more. Student to faculty ratio is 50: 1.
