From Confusion to Clarity: How Shiksha.com Helped Me Choose the Right Course and College for a Bright Future

Hey, my name is Surbhi Saxena. I finished class 12 in the year 2019 and after that, I was very confused and tense about my future. There were many questions in my mind like what course should I pursue and to which college should I take admission. All my doubts were cleared when I visited Shiksha.com to find information about possible courses and colleges. As I had an interest in IT and computers, I decided to pursue a course related to my interest, so I chose Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science. I wanted to be an expert in the field of computers, and I researched the possible scopes and career prospects of the course and Shiksha.com helped me a lot with that. Through Shiksha.com, I was able to find out about different prospects of the course at a single place and that helped me save a lot of time. 

After selecting the course, it was time for me to decide where I should pursue the degree. As a person who is not comfortable going far away from home, I decided to choose a college near my town. Again, I took help from Shiksha.com and looked up various colleges and considered all the things that are important for a good study environment and overall development. After going through a no. of colleges, I decided to take admission into Jiwaji University, Gwalior. 

I also developed an interest in content writing and did internships with various organizations in the field of content writing. That helped me a lot in getting used to being associated with companies and working as an intern contributed to my overall personality and added value to my professional growth. I completed my graduation in computer science in the year 2022 with 1st division. The course curriculum helped me learn all the aspects of computer science beneficial for my overall growth as an expert in the field and I decided to further enhance my knowledge by pursuing a Masters in computer science. My aim is to be an expert in the field of computer and IT and contribute to the growth of whichever organization I’m associated with. 

Our university, i.e. Jiwaji University was established in 1964 as a government institution. The campus of the University is sprawled over a massive 225 acres of land at Naulakha Parade Ground. The university has been accredited with ‘A’ Grade status by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). At present, over 400 colleges are affiliated with Jiwaji University Gwalior and are imparting education to students under its jurisdiction. Jiwaji University offers various UG and PG courses in different streams related to Science, Art, Literature, Law, and Physical education, etc. Our college also offers distance learning courses like BSc, MSc, BA, MA, BLib, etc. All the faculty members in our college are highly qualified and have immense knowledge in their respective subjects.

 The teacher-to-student ratio is also very good. They have been regularly organizing and participating in National and International Conferences, Seminars, etc. In our college, most of the Science departments are well equipped with advanced instrumentation for research as well as teaching. Our university also has an NSS department that organizes various extracurricular activities every year in which students from every department participate in large numbers. The University also offers outstanding sports facilities to its students. The sports department is well equipped for playing Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Badminton, Hockey, Football, Cricket, and many other indoor as well as outdoor games. Our college also has separate Hostels facilities for boys and girls. The hostels have all the required facilities with well-furnished rooms. The college campus also has a playground, auditorium, cafeteria, etc., and the campus is sprawled over 250 acres. There is also a big library on the university campus which contains a large collection of academics as well as other books, magazines, research papers, etc. Our university has a very good environment which helped me in building my personality and intellect. 

It is my firm belief that education is the best way to enlighten young minds and it can only be imparted in a good environment where they have prosperous thinking. Our university has all these qualities. During my college days, we spent so much time in the college library studying books and research papers which enlightened my mind and contributed to my overall personality. We were a group of 3 people enjoying our college life together. We used to spend our free time in the cafeteria discussing our future ambitions and goals. College life is the golden period of a student’s life. My college life has contributed to my personality development in an immense way and the memories we have created together will stay with me forever and will continue to help me in my future endeavors.
