A Shred of the Past
After scoring 70 percent in Class 10, I had no future goals. I was unaware of what I was going to choose as a career path. As I was dissatisfied with my score, I took time to decide my stream for Class 11 and 12. I had full guidance from my parents. However, my mother’s mind was a bit more inclined towards the Commerce stream. But my father advised me to pursue only the stream I was genuinely interested in. After a long thought process, I went for the Humanities stream and started preparing for the UPSC examination.
After completing my Class 12, I appeared for a few entrance exams and eventually got admission at Allahabad University.

Allahabad University Counselling
I wanted to get admission at the main campus, but I was not lucky enough. I joined the Jagat Taran Girls Degree College which is affiliated with Allahabad University. After going there for counselling, I opted for the BA in Ancient History course.
During the admission and counselling process, I was very nervous and kept thinking about whether I would be able to get admission. The presence of other students at the counselling was elevating the feeling of self-doubt in me. Looking back at it, I get amused thinking of how nervous and anxious I was at that time. Well, at the end, it is just human nature.
I was called for counselling along with a few other girls, and after talking to fellow candidates there, I started feeling better. The counselling process was smooth; the documentation took some time, and then the last stage was paying the admission fee. After paying the same, I finally got admission.
Beginning of a New Chapter
At first glance, college life seemed intimidating. The campus walls and new faces made me feel nervous. However, all that intimidation and nervousness disappeared when I entered the class. Everyone there looked just as confused as I was. I sat beside a few fellow classmates, started to introduce myself, and gradually everyone became acquainted. Eventually, I made many good friends.
The college campus is good, with a lot of greenery. The study environment is one of the things my college excels at. It did not take me a lot of time to get familiar with the campus. Here, the library is never empty, with many students studying at all times. The vast number of books catalogued is also a plus point, which makes the library more interesting.

Future goals
I am certain that I am going to enjoy my time here. After this, I wish to explore new states for my future education. I am constantly keeping up with the industry trends to sharpen my skills. I wish to get a good job offer at some big MNC after graduation. Now, I am just hoping to stay persistent and optimistic for my future career.
