Dr Joshi has expertise in Fashion Buying and Merchandising and has over 27 years of rich experience in areas of academic administration.

Q: What is the difference between the teaching methodology in your institute and others?

A: The institute offers very interactive learning environment which is very promising for students. The students are being given a very sound theoretical knowledge with Video Streaming/ Flipped Classroom/ eLearning Tools.

Q: How are you preparing your students to be Industry ready?

A: The institute offers a learning environment that is very conducive to learning and it helps them to shape their career as eminent leaders in Fashion & Textile Industry. In every programme, all courses have been designed to give prominence to and emphasis on the practical aspect of the industry.  We make use of demonstrative teaching methodology to show the application of the course curriculum. A regular interface with the industry through Seminars, Conferences, Designer Talk Shows, Industry projects, Guest lectures and Industry visits, Industry Internships etc. In order to cater to the Fashion Apparel & Textile Industry requirements, the curriculum is being constantly revisited and revised as per trends in the industry. Hence, it is not surprising that ASFT has many eminent and experienced people from the Fashion & Textile industry as members of the Area Advisory Board and Board of Studies. The institution is in constant touch with the alumni who provide valuable inputs and feedback to keep our curriculum rationalized and relevant as per the demands of the industry. We do a lot of Pre-Placement talks also to accelerate the Industry interface

Q: Do you think the curriculum of the courses taught in your institute fits in the requirement of the industry?

A: Major revisions in the University Curriculum take place every three years. University takes a number of initiatives to review/ develop the Curriculum, Programme, Learning Outcome, Assessment, Credit Hour etc., for academic excellence and to comply with the expectations of the Industry.

In addition to the Board of Studies (BoS), the University also made provisions for constituting Course Review Committee (CRC) and Programme Review Committee (PRC) and Area Advisory Board (AAB) for higher involvement of Faculty and external experts at the institution level.

Periodic programme reviews take place through a quality-assured process to evaluate and analyse the degree programmes structure and curricula to ensure that the defined graduate attributes are met at University, Domain/ Institutional and programme level.

 Q: Is your college receptive to innovation, technology, science & entrepreneurship?

A: Yes, our Institute is receptive to all the changes. We are second to none in making changes in our curriculum. As a university, we are fostering Entrepreneurship.
