Institute’s clubs and societies give students opportunity to showcase their team management skills, says Kamalavarshini
Since my early school days, I had a great interest in Science and related subjects. Science has answers to all the questions in the world and I wanted to know those answers. This curiosity of mine made me choose Science as my core subjects in Class 11 and 12. I wanted to innovate, invent and delve into the vastness and those astonishing wonders that science holds. Now, I had all Science subjects which means Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with Mathematics. In the beginning, I could feel a lot of pressure as any other student but later I got comfortable with the learning process. When the school ended, it was the time to choose the career domain, as Science is a vast sector. So I decided to go ahead with Engineering but I never wanted to opt for coding and technical languages. That was the time, I dropped my plan and decided to become a Biologist. The college that I chose to pursue this career was one of the best colleges for Life Sciences in Chennai, it was B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology.
Choosing the career and then choosing the institute that helps you achieve your goals is the most difficult task of any teenager’s life. We all have been through this. The pressure of board exams, the anxiety of results, the burden of admission process formalities become a challenging situation for one to manage. But every student has to go through this. Though there were many other options and choices available to me in choosing the college, I chose Crescent over and above other soon after I visited the campus for the first time. I could feel the connection and ease.
Out of many facilities offered by the institute, one most important is the green and eco-friendly campus. The cafeteria is well-maintained and offers quality food items. The best thing about the institute is its industry embedded curriculum which gets revised every year depending on the latest trends. Apart from the curriculum, there are many student-run clubs and societies in the institute such as dancing, drama and theatre. I am a part of the dance club. This college has given me a platform to exhibit my talent that has always helped me boost my confidence level. Through this medium of clubs and societies, students get the opportunity to showcase their team management and leadership skills which are the most important skillsets required to survive in the corporate world. I feel very confident and responsible today. I have learned to accept challenges and overcome them, after all, everything is temporary and that the incredible part of a student's life is when you learn to take hold of what you have done and what you can do later.
After the graduation ends, I wish to go for a masters degree in the fields of genetics from the same institute and spend my remaining days at college happily to collect more memories of this wonderful place.
