Internship Opportunity at Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology
The college has a well-established and fully pledged training and placement department that focuses on each student with the objective of providing them with industry exposure during the course years through seminars, internships and training programs. The T &P department consists of faculty members and students from every stream of various courses. The College provides various industrial internship programmes which are relevant to every domain. Experts and researchers from premier institutions like IIT/NITs and other industries or organisations mentor the students during the internships. These internships are unpaid and organised by the college.

Eligibility details: Students in the third year and final year of B.Tech courses and research scholars of any year are eligible to register.
The following are the internship details for the B.Tech course:
Curriculum: There are various modules in which students can register themselves. Each module has a different time period for completion of the internship. The topics covered in different modules vary, and the final projects are also different. Students can register themselves in any of the modules or all of the modules.
Sant Longowal institute of engineering and technology is a popular university in Punjab. It offers various courses including B tech, M tech, BE, ME, MBA, MSc etc. Other than these courses it also offers some Diploma courses and specialisation in various disciplines. It offers its courses to around few more than 1000 students. It's location is sangrur in Punjab. When we talk about the package, around 80% in IT courses got placed and around 70% in core got placed. And the highest package for the year 2022 was about 18.5 Lacs per annum.
Sant Longowal institute of engineering and technology is a well known institute located in Sangrur of Punjab state. It offers various courses including B tech, M tech, BE, ME, MBA, MSc etc. and some specialisation courses in various disciplines. Placements records in this institute is quite well and good. Around 80 to 85% students from IT courses and around 70 to 75 % in the core disciplines got placements last year which is a great number and achivement. Duration: The duration of internships must be a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of four weeks. Only students with full presence are awarded with internship certificates.
Top Recruiters: The college has its own development centre with collaboration with other prestigious institutes and industries, which provides internship and training opportunities to the students.
Stipend: Internships or training that is provided directly by a college are unpaid, but at the end of each internship or training, students get an appreciation letter and certificates as well.
The majority of these internships are in the Research and Development (R&D), Automobile, Telecommunications, and Information Technology (IT) sectors.

Application Procedure
- Students need to register themselves using online links provided by the department.
- Fill up the application form with all the necessary details.
- The request form must be duly signed by the respective department's HOD.
- After that, get it signed and approved by the faculty.
- Submit it with all the necessary documents.
Application fees:
There is no application or registration fee for the students of SLIET, but the students of other institutes need to pay an amount of INR 500.
Both the institutes Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University are well to pursue higher studies. However, when we talk about the placements offered and compare them, then for B.Tech-M tech courses the package range is INR 4-19 Lakhs approximately in Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology and around INR 4.5-25 Lakhs in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University which is better than the former. Also the placement rate in SMVDU is greater than in SLIET. Also the growth rate in the number of placements is also better in SMVDU which is 28 % than 13% of SLIET. So we can say that placement report of SMVDU is better than SLIET.
