My name is Manav K Thakker from Salem, Tamil Nadu. I completed under graduation in B-com at Jamal Mohamed College. Since my school days I have been inclined to develop interest in the domain of commerce and management. I was able to understand my career goals, and this attracted me towards the managerial aspects. Besides my academic experiences, my keen interest and involvement in management have enabled me to make a mark in my father's medium-scale tiles &sanitary business. My hobbies are playing cricket, listening music.

Q1. How did you choose your course of study in school (class XI-XII)? What made you choose PGDM at GIBS?

Reflecting on my passions and the subjects that ignite my curiosity, I find myself immersed in a world of fascinating topics that truly captivate me. With a sense of excitement, I explore various career paths linked to my favorite courses and areas of interest. Delving into the opportunities, growth potential, and market demand within these fields, I feel energized by the possibilities that lie ahead. Assessing my skills and strengths, I discover which disciplines resonate with me the most, where I can see myself not just succeeding but thriving. My academic achievements become a source of pride, reminding me of the joy I find in leveraging my talents.

Looking towards the future, I envision my career and educational aspirations, focusing on how different study programs could propel me toward my dreams. The reputation and accreditation of colleges and universities are on my radar, leading me to research institutions renowned for their academic excellence, distinguished faculty, and comprehensive student resources. As I review curricula and course offerings, I seek alignment with my academic interests and professional goals, excited by the prospect of specializing in topics that deeply interest me. The location of the institution matters too, as I consider the campus culture, extracurricular activities, and support services, all crucial elements that will nurture both my personal and academic growth. In this journey, I am guided by a blend of passion, purpose, and practical considerations, all pointing me towards an educational path that not only aligns with my interests but also promises a fulfilling and bright future.

Q2. How you cracked admission at GIBS? What all entrance test(s) did you give? Any coaching classes that you took for preparation? Any other colleges that you were trying out for? What challenges did you face while opting for this college?

As a student, gaining admission to my current college demanded extensive hard work, dedication, and strategic preparation. My objective was to secure enrollment in a reputable university that would align with my academic and professional aspirations. I diligently prepared for multiple entrance exams, such as the CAT and MAT, as well as any subject-specific examinations required by the colleges I targeted. Moreover, I undertook standardized tests necessary for admission into the desired programs. Beyond exam preparations, I researched and visited numerous universities offering courses tailored to my interests. When comparing various institutions, I weighed factors such as reputation, faculty expertise, campus facilities, and geographic proximity. Managing my time effectively emerged as one of the major challenges encountered throughout the application process.

Q3. How you spend your time at college? Which classes do you like to attend? Which extra-curricular activities are you a part of in college? If given a chance, what else would you want to do? How has your college experience changed you as a person? What opportunities do you see in future?

My college experience has been nothing short of transformative, a journey marked by intellectual stimulation, personal growth, and the development of lifelong relationships. Immersing myself in courses that align with my interests and career goals has been exhilarating. Whether delving into the complexities of my major or tackling intellectual challenges posed by elective courses beyond my comfort zone, each class has propelled me towards broadening my knowledge and pushing my boundaries. The vibrant world of extracurricular activities has significantly enriched my college life. Participating in sports, leading student organizations, volunteering in community service, undertaking research projects, and navigating the professional realm through internships have all played integral roles in my personal and academic development. These opportunities have allowed me to explore my passions, cultivate new skills, and, importantly, build meaningful connections with peers, faculty, and professionals. Each activity has served as a building block in the foundation of my evolving self, contributing to a well-rounded and enriching college experience.

These years have been a period of immense personal growth, characterized by the fostering of independence, the expansion of my worldview, and the sharpening of key skills such as critical thinking, effective communication, and problem-solving. The friendships I've forged and the professional networks I've developed are among the most significant outcomes of my college experience. These relationships, founded on shared experiences and mutual support, are treasures I'll carry with me well beyond my college years, serving as a continual source of strength and inspiration. As I look to the future, I'm filled with excitement for the myriad opportunities that lie ahead. Armed with the knowledge, skills, and experiences gained through my college journey, I feel prepared to embark on the next phase of my life. Whether advancing in my chosen field, pursuing further education, exploring entrepreneurial ventures, or dedicating myself to social causes, I'm confident in my ability to navigate the challenges and opportunities that await.

The future promises continuous learning and growth, opportunities for personal and professional development, and the chance to make meaningful contributions to society. My college years have not just been about acquiring an education; they've been a foundational phase of life, setting the stage for a fulfilling and impactful journey ahead. With gratitude for the experiences I've had and anticipation for those to come, I look forward to building on this foundation, embracing the challenges of the future, and contributing in meaningful ways to the world around me.

Q4. What do you plan in future?

My future goals determine that how well I work in a reputed company for a period of time and my long-term goal is to enhance my father’s business.
