My name is Manav K Thakker from Salem, Tamil Nadu. I completed under graduation in B-com at Jamal Mohamed College. Since my school days I have been inclined to develop interest in the domain of commerce and management. I was able to understand my career goals, and this attracted me towards the managerial aspects. Besides my academic experiences, my keen interest and involvement in management have enabled me to make a mark in my father's medium-scale tiles &sanitary business. My hobbies are playing cricket, listening music.

Q1. How did you choose your course of study in school (class XI-XII)? What made you choose PGDM at GIBS?

With a sense of excitement, I explore various career paths linked to my favorite courses and areas of interest. Q2. How you cracked admission at GIBS? What all entrance test(s) did you give? Any coaching classes that you took for preparation? Any other colleges that you were trying out for? What challenges did you face while opting for this college?

As a student, gaining admission to my current college demanded extensive hard work, dedication, and strategic preparation. My objective was to secure enrollment in a reputable university that would align with my academic and professional aspirations. I diligently prepared for multiple entrance exams, such as the CAT and MAT, as well as any subject-specific examinations required by the colleges I targeted. Moreover, I undertook standardized tests necessary for admission into the desired programs. Beyond exam preparations, I researched and visited numerous universities offering courses tailored to my interests. When comparing various institutions, I weighed factors such as reputation, faculty expertise, campus facilities, and geographic proximity. Managing my time effectively emerged as one of the major challenges encountered throughout the application process.

Q3. How you spend your time at college? Which classes do you like to attend? Which extra-curricular activities are you a part of in college? If given a chance, what else would you want to do? How has your college experience changed you as a person? What opportunities do you see in future?

My future goals determine that how well I work in a reputed company for a period of time and my long-term goal is to enhance my father’s business.
