Growing up in a small town and being close to many more lifeforms, and trees, I always had a curiosity to learn about the earth. Class 6 was a turning point in my life when I was first introduced to Geography. By then, I knew what I wanted to be. I want to discover the earth and uncover all those mysterious layers which lie within it. Always being curious to learn about the earth, I decided to become a scientist. I passed my Class 10 boards with flying colors. Now, I had to opt for Geography, but my parents refused as they thought there were few career options and hence, I was forced to take science (PCB with Computer Science). My dreams shattered, anxiety and depression became my partners. By then because of my falling grades, Class 11 was nothing to talk home about. My parents and teachers were expecting too much, and I was just trying to survive anyhow. Then my computer teacher finally understood. He made me believe that I could opt for Geography even at Class 12. I believed him and put my heart into my studies once again. I cleared the board exams with flying colors. The problem still persisted. My parents were not ready to allow me to pursue my dream but this time I decided not to follow them. They said they would allow me provided it was a good college. That is how I landed up in Amity University, Noida.
When I was looking for colleges, I was basically looking for my graduation in Geology. So, I was searching for colleges which were offering this programme. Though I found many institutions and gave their entrance too, and cleared them, but my parents did not agree to send me that far. At last, I found this programme in Amity and it matched my expectations. There is a Selection Process based on the evaluation of video responses to questions posed online at Admission Microsite. But, as I was having more than 80% in my boards, I was given Direct Admission.
I made up my mind to grab this opportunity with both hands.
Though I spent only a month on campus, campus life was amazing and exciting. Unfortunately, Covid was a spoilsport. All the same, the teachers were really understanding. So, I loved to attend all the online classes. Life at Amity, transformed me into a new person. Joining Amity was one of the best decisions I ever took. Amity organizes many events covering a wide spectrum. However, I took part mainly in writing poetry and essay. I also joined the classes for self-protection. After coming to Amity my life took a whole U turn. I was very introvert and shy who panicked at little things but now Amity has changed me into an extrovert. Today I can really communicate well and handle every situation with confidence and ease. Of course, it is WIP (work in progress).
