To connect with its alumni and establish a sustained lifelong relationship, the institute has formed an Alumni Association known as the SLIET Alumni Association. - Rajeev Kumar Ranjan: He was one of the meritorious students in the Electronics and Communication Engineering batch. He completed his graduation from B.Tech in the year 2000. Currently, he is working as an assistant professor at IIT Dhanbad in the ECE department.
- Devinder Kumar Goyal: He spent 7 years at SLIET, with a 3 year diploma programme and a 4 year B.Tech programme. He was a student of the 2003 batch of the Electronics and Communication Engineering department. Currently, he is working for Punjab State Power Corporation Limited in Patiala as a Senior XEN.
- Umesh Kumar: He was a student of Electronics and Communication Engineering in the 1992 batch. After completing his B.Tech, he worked with various prestigious industries and organizations. He founded his own organisation named "Circuit Sutra Technologies" and is currently serving as the Founder and CEO of the same organization.
- Amit Dua: He was a student in the Computer Science Engineering department enrolled in a 4-year B.Tech programme at this institute. Students who graduated in various courses from this college are settled in reputed organizations at various worldwide locations such as Australia, United Kingdom, USA, UAE, etc. Many of them are settled in metro cities and NCR region such as Delhi and Noida.
Sant Longowal institute of engineering and technology is a popular university in Punjab. It offers various courses including B tech, M tech, BE, ME, MBA, MSc etc. Other than these courses it also offers some Diploma courses and specialisation in various disciplines. It offers its courses to around few more than 1000 students. It's location is sangrur in Punjab. When we talk about the package, around 80% in IT courses got placed and around 70% in core got placed. And the highest package for the year 2022 was about 18.5 Lacs per annum.
Sant Longowal institute of engineering and technology is a well known institute located in Sangrur of Punjab state. A considerable number of companies—more than 100—visited the Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology campus for campus placement. Approximately fifty organizations visited the campus in 2022, up from the previous three years. Among these organizations, the top employers at this institution for 2022 placements were top national employers like Cognizant, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, and HCL. Other notable recruiters were Coca-Cola, Nestle, Samsung, HP, and Wipro.
Both the institutes Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University are well to pursue higher studies. However, when we talk about the placements offered and compare them, then for B.Tech-M tech courses the package range is INR 4-19 Lakhs approximately in Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology and around INR 4.5-25 Lakhs in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University which is better than the former. Also the placement rate in SMVDU is greater than in SLIET. Also the growth rate in the number of placements is also better in SMVDU which is 28 % than 13% of SLIET. So we can say that placement report of SMVDU is better than SLIET.

SLIET cutoff 2025 has been released for the first round. The cutoff was released on the basis of IIT JAM scores and CCMN counselling. The cutoff for the General AI category candidates varied between 1557 and 1806. For the OBC AI category candidates, the cutoff ranks varied between 1666 and 2288.
