Workshops and Projects in NITIE Mumbai

2 mins readUpdated on Jul 22, 2022 12:23 IST
The NITIE administration plans to hold one or two workshops nearly every month; however, the focus of these workshops is primarily on the supply chain industry.

A student at NITIE is required to complete a minimum of six weeks of internship in a corporate setting as part of SIP.

According to the NIRF ranking, NITIE Mumbai is one of the most prestigious institutes and is ranked among the top 10 management institutes in the world. This accomplishment would not have been possible without the consistent effort put forth by management as well as the student-driven committees and clubs.

Course Specific Projects

The two-year course in management offered here is one of the most challenging educational paths that each student must take in terms of their academics since it consists of daily classes, a trimester curriculum with monthly exams and SIP (Summer Internship Project) at the end of the first year. A student is required to complete a minimum of six weeks of internship in a corporate setting as part of this SIP. The goal is to provide the student with practical knowledge of what the role of a manager entails and familiarise them with the technical aspects of the domain. The theoretical knowledge is only useful up to a certain extent, but the actual knowledge of how to tackle and come to terms with the challenges of the corporate world can be done only after jumping into the system.

In addition to this, students may choose to participate in live projects during studies in order to increase their domain knowledge; however, it is entirely up to the students to make this decision. The placement committee is currently considering a wide variety of live projects and the alumni committee is also contributing to the development of some of the projects. Many students choose to participate in at least one or two real-world projects during their time in college so that they can acquire more practical experience.
