IIM Mumbai Admission Overview 2025

IIM Mumbai (Formerly known as NITIE Mumbai) ranked at no. 6 under the 'Management' category by the NIRF 2024 Rankings. IIM Mumbai admissions for the academic year 2025 are now open. Generally, the IIM Mumbai application process commences in January and closes in March. Candidates must apply for the programme before passing the IIM Mumbai application form 2025 last date, For candidates with their names in the merit lists of respective courses, the classes will commence in June. Currently, NITIE offers degree and certificate programmes to students at the postgraduate level in the field of Business & Management.

IIM Mumbai admissions are both entrance and merit-based. Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria for admission to their preferred course. The table below mentions NITIE courses along with eligibility and selection criteria:

According to the admission policy of IIM Mumbai for its PGP, popularly known as MBA, institutes select and allot a seat to the candidates based on their valid CAT score, which needs to match the minimum cutoff for admission. So, aspirants need to apply for the CAT and complete the test. For all other courses, students can apply directly via the institute's official website. Students should check the eligibility criteria of every course before applying and filling out the application form. Below are the step-by-step procedures for IIM Mumbai admission process:

Step 1: IIM Mumbai Admission Application Process

The online application form on IIM Mumbai's official website should be filled with all the relevant information concerning personal and educational details. Applicants must appear and qualify in the respective entrance exam before applying for the course. The entrance scores are submitted at the time of filling the form. Furthermore, applicants also upload a set of documents comprising age proof, education certificates, photographs, signatures, etc. They also have to pay a non-refundable amount of application fee.

Step 2: Personal Interviews of Shortlisted Students

The Management Institute shortlists students based on academic records, CAT qualifying, and CAT final cutoff for further selection rounds. The shortlisted students then appear for a Personal Interview subsequently.

Step 3: Final Merit List

After the rounds of selection, IIM Mumbai will publish a category-wise merit list. Students who get into the merit list become eligible for admission. The selected candidates may confirm their seat by further paying the IIM Mumbai fees.

IIM Mumbai Application Process 2025

The application process of IIM Mumbai is common to PGDIE, PGDIM, PGDISEM and Fellow programmes. Candidates can also apply for more than one course through online mode only and register themselves on the official portal. The details are as follows:

1. Go to the official website of NITIE.

2. Click on the desired programme and click on Application Process against the pop up that appears against the selected course.

3. Read the given instructions carefully and complete the form.

4. Candidates applying for Fellow programme need to additionally submit a 1,500-word research proposal.

5. Pay the application fee.

Note: The application fee for each programme is INR 1,000 (Rs 500 in case of SC/ ST/ PwD candidates) for applicants from India and SAARC countries. For international applicants, the fee is 50 USD along with the bank charges (as applicable).

For PGPEX-VLFM:

1. Download the form.

2. The application portal will be working around the admission time. The institute also accepts the filled form emailed and speed posted as part of the students application packet.

3. Ensure attaching the relevant DD and the self attested certificates.

4. There is a separate form for a Letter of Reference (LOR). Candidates can share the link for LOR with their download and share the soft copy of LOR. The filled in LOR needs to be sent independently and should be received by the VLFM office by the due date.

NOTE: This programme actively seeks sponsored and self-supported candidates. If you are sponsored, make sure that the sponsorship letter is attached to the application packet.

Placements: It has impressive placements, with timely assistance every time when sorting them out for help. Out of 206 companies, 52 companies specifically came for recruitment from our discipline in 2025. Accenture and Infosys are one of the companies offering the highest packages.

Faculty: I had lot of dignity towards teachers, and teachers usually consider the opinion of students before planning out any important schedules. Students' achievements are repeatedly spoken of by teachers, which is somewhat like showing them the purest form of love. A bunch of students successfully completed their degree with no history of arrears.

One of the best college for the MBA with top class facilities and placements.

Placements: IIM, Mumbai, is one of the best management college of India. Almost 80–90% of the students gets successfully placed in the MBA course at this college. Various top companies visits our college for placements. average package offered at the college was between 8 and 15 LPA. The top recruiters at the college were Amazon, Flipkart, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Apple, etc.

Infrastructure: IIM, Mumbai, has best quality infrastructure for all the course. For our course, there was a separate department in which all the facilities were available, including canteen, cafe, Wi-Fi, labs, library, etc. There were all the facilities available in the college for the interactive learnings and development of the students. The hostel's facilities were of great quality. The food in the hostel mess was best in taste.

Faculty: The faculty of the college were highly qualified and knowledgeable at IIM Mumbai. All the professors in our course are experienced in the teaching field. Teachers were teaching us all the concepts in an easy-to-understand manner. They were giving proper training to us. The course curriculum was relevant and helped students gain jobs. Exams at the college were of a moderately difficult level.

Really good infrastructure, best teachers, mentally as well as physically, get strong.

Placements: So basically, almost 89% of students are placed. There is the highest package of 1 crore and the lowest package of 400k. There are huge companies like Microsoft, Apple, IBM. Almost 58% of students got internships. The best roles offered are in teaching, where they treat us like friends.

Infrastructure: There are so many facilities available like Wi-Fi labs, practical rooms, and a library. Also, there are some physical facilities like a swimming pool, volleyball and tennis courts, badminton and cricket grounds. There are also physical equipment's like dumbbells and weight lifters.

Faculty: The teachers were too helpful and qualified; they are so helpful for new students and weak students. They teach us like we are friends, and when we make mistakes, they guide us properly. When we are unable to learn something, they teach us personally.

Other: I chose this course because my father also got a degree from this faculty, and he was too confident that this college makes perfect in all ways.
