With the declaration of CBSE Class 12 Result 2021 based on the evaluation criteria, Shiksha.com conducted a survey asking students various questions on their Class 12 result and admissions to higher educational institutions. With over 1,200 students responding to the questions in an hour of rolling out the survey, here’s what it disclosed.

- Do you wish to appear for the optional exams in offline mode in August/September?
- Do you wish to apply for merit-based admission or entrance-test-based admission to college/university?
- The admission process for colleges will begin before the conduct of CBSE optional exams. Do you think you’ll be able to upgrade your seat in case you score better?

Do you wish to appear for the optional exams in offline mode in August/September?
A total of 648 or approximately 53 per cent of participants wish to apply for the offline exams slated to be conducted in August/September, if the pandemic situation is under control. Some of the reasons they cited for this are that these exams will be fairer, they will help to upgrade their marks to a better percentage, some told that they had missed their pre-boards, while others stated that these exams will help them prepare for other competitive exams like JEE, NEET etc.
Nearly 47 per cent of participants chose not to write the exams physically. They said that they won’t be able to score this much offline. Others said that they were busy preparing for JEE, NEET etc. Many also feared the outbreak of the third wave of coronavirus while a few of them stated that the seriousness of studies has been lost due to the online system.
Do you wish to apply for merit-based admission or entrance-test-based admission to college/university?
The maximum number of respondents (nearly 41 percent) choose to apply for both merit-based and entrance-test-based admissions to higher educational institutions. Nearly 36 percent will go for solely entrance-test-based admissions while the remaining 24 percent participants will choose admissions based on merit.
The admission process for colleges will begin before the conduct of CBSE optional exams. Do you think you’ll be able to upgrade your seat in case you score better?
The admission process of universities like Delhi University (DU) will begin on August 2. The procedure of applications, release of cut-offs and admissions to fill seats in various courses in different colleges will complete in September.
With the announcement of the CBSE 12th Result 2021 for the optional exams getting released in September, approximately 74 per cent of students are hopeful that they’ll be able to upgrade their seat in case they score well.
Shiksha.com conducted a webinar for Class 12 students who are interested in taking admission to the DU. With many questions doing rounds in their minds, the panelists Rama Sharma, Principal, Hansraj College and Alok Pandey, DU Admissions Committee member answered many of them and put the doubts of hundreds of students at ease.

Hi...
I need to clarify first: are you asking about admission to Chandigarh University for B.Tech/B.E, or admission to a medical/paramedical course (like B.Sc Nursing, MBBS, BPT, etc.)
The marks required and exam rules differ a lot depending on the stream.

Hi.
If your 12th result has not been announced yet then
Upload expected / provisional marks for now.
Final admission depends on the official 12th mark sheet after results are announced.
