AFMC Pune Popular Programmes 2026
The flagship courses of AFMC Pune are MBBS & BSc Nursing. The duration of the MBBS course is 4 ½ years followed by compulsory rotating internship training of one year. All medical cadets after completing final MBBS examination will undergo internship training in selected service hospitals recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). A total of 145 medical cadets,115 boys & 30 girls, to be admitted for the year 2026 in MBBS programme.

The mode of AMFC Pune course admission is online. Admission to AFMC, Pune is subject to norms prescribed by the Director General Armed Forces Medical Services, Ministry of Defence, and Government of India. The students need to register & fill the application form released by the college to take part in the admission process. Students wanting to take admission for MBBS course at AFMC Pune will have to qualify the NEET UG Examination conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). The shortlisted students are called for screening which comprises of Test of English Language and Reasoning (ToELR), Psychological Assessment Test (PAT), Interview and Medical Examination at AFMC, Pune. Students need to produce the original Admit card for NEET containing the NEET Roll number, original mark sheets of their qualifying examination and other documents at the time of admissions. Did you know: At the time of admission, parents/guardians of the students are required to sign a bond agreement for Rs 71,00,000/- (Rupees Seventy-One Lakhs only). Any candidate withdrawing from the college after 7 days of admission [after 1600hrs (4PM)] will have to pay Bond Money as per existing rules.

After successfully submitting the application form students do not need to contact anyone. Once the application form is submitted successfully, the college checks the forms. If the form is filled correctly with the right documents, it is accepted. The college then informs the students about the further process.
NTA is expected to start the NEET 2026 registration in the first week of February. The last date of application is likely to be scheduled for first week of March. NEET 2026 will be conducted in the first week of May.
The NEET 2025 result is expected to be released in the first week of June 2025, within a month of conducting the exam. NTA does not announce the NEET result date in advance. Although last year the result date was stated to be declared on June 14, NTA released it 10 days in advance. Hence, there is no fixed date or schedule for NTA to declare the NEET result. Prior to the declaration of the result, NTA releases the final NEET answer key. Last year, NEET was conducted on May 5 and the result was declared June 4.
For taking admission in into any UG level course, one needs to score minimum of 50% in class 12. For courses like MBBS or any medical related courses Science stream with Biology is a must for students. Students also need eligible marks in exams like NEET.

The cutoff vary for each programme every year depending on the competition level, number of seats available, etc. In the first round, Armed Forces Medical College DM cutoff 2024 was 1651 for students in the General AI category. DM in Cardiology was the toughest to get into. While for the last round, the closing rank was 3494 wherein DM in Cardiology proved to be the most sought-after in the General AI category.
