    The Amritapuri Arts experience.
Placements: A very low percentage of 1% students got placed from my course. There weren't any packages offered if you were referring to the fees, then it was Rs. 50,000 for three semesters. Amrita's own autonomous companies were the recruiters for our course, like Amrita Ahead. About 40% of students got into paid internships in Amrita's branch companies. The top roles offered were as content creators and editors.
Infrastructure: Facilities such as projectors, classrooms, and libraries were present. Hostel quality was very poor as the food served often contained contaminations like worms and bandages. Also, it was often undercooked or lacked ingredients. Sports and games facilities were available to all.
Faculty: Most of the teachers were helpful and qualified, and also knew how to teach, however, there were bad ones as well in terms of attitude and student interaction. It provided a good curriculum to work with compared to other colleges, but in order to pursue a career other than teaching, additional coaching is required. The semester exams were not too daunting, but the grading was strict. I feel like they didn't give you marks even if you deserve it. It had a pass percentage of 70%.
Other: After finishing high school, I wanted to take a breather to plan what I must pursue in life. Literature seemed like the perfect fit for that, considering my passion for reading. Things like better communication between the students and the teachers, and some efforts to improve food quality would have helped me personally. There are a lot of events that go on at Amritapuri, hosted by both students and the college itself. Groups like Vidyut and Prayaana are actively trying to engage the student community in various talent shows. The campus atmosphere is great with structural beauty and cleanliness.

It is a good campus with all the facilities needed. Placements and infrastructure are also good.
Placements: Our course doesn't have any placements. However, some placements are offered from banks, and above 60% of the students got placed. They are providing a salary of around Rs. 20,000 per month. Many companies are providing internships.
Infrastructure: Our course is English, so we need a library for our references. Our library offers wide varieties of books for research and reference. We also have good medical facilities, sports and meditations, and there are also canteen facilities with good food.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are PhD scholars and are highly knowledgeable. Teaching quality is above average. They all are helpful and good guides. The course curriculum is relevant for students, and the subject is vast and needed for the present society.
Other: I have chosen this course because I like literature. Teaching and subjects given are the best. Productivity taught here is high after getting into this course. More communication is needed in this course. With a wide range of communication, it would be helpful for us in the coming future.

    I have an average experience.
Placements: The college didn't have placements for the English department. I had to quit and take MA elsewhere. Quit option was available back then. The engineering department has excellent placement offers, and even the commerce department is good. I am not satisfied with placements for the English department.
Infrastructure: The campus looks like a five-star hotel and beautiful. The hostel is average. The campus is well-built, and they keep it renovating. Labs are good, and the college also has a beautiful garden. Canteen has vegetarian food only. Hotels are outside the campus, and they serve superb non-vegetarian food. Hostel facilities are satisfactory.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members are good enough. The syllabus is simply brilliant and advanced. Unlike other universities, here only subjects related to English are taught for the course. Other departments syllabus is also good. Teachers are mostly good, but some of them are not up to the mark.

Q:   Is it good to pursue BA in English literature?
    ShikshaGPT says
    A:
Hi Balaji, Once graduated in B. A. (Hons.) English literature, you could do your M.A. or an MBA. There are several higher study options for meritorious graduates in English language and literature, such as journalism and mass communication; management; tourism administration; law; international relations; linguistics; communication management; film editing and direction; visual communication; and library and information science and forms of creative arts like drama and cinema. You can explore the option of doing some specialised post graduate courses for which graduation is needed in the field of media, multimedia, public relations, foreign languages, teaching, social work, finance, retail, design, hospitality, stocks, aviation etc. based on your interests and strengths. If you have a flair for writing, have good communication skills and a reading habit, journalism or mass communication is a good choice. You could also opt for academic careers like teaching and research and particularly training. English language training is a big and growing sector in India with jobs freelance and full-time options as an English language trainer or a voice and accent trainer. English can also help in being a part of call centres, TV, Radio, reporting and also in the advertising industry. You can also work in an embassy. I hope it helps. Please feel free to revert. Wish you luck.
