Q:   Is it worth pursuing B.Tech at Amrita School of Engineering?
2thumbs up
A:

Yes, it is worth pursuing BTech at Amrita School of Engineeirng as college has been accredited with A Grade by NAAC and is UGC-approved. The college generally sees high placements with top recruiters being Cisco, Microsoft, Amazon, Bosch, Arista, MC Kinsey, etc. Highest package went up to 80.04 LPA, almost four times the fee. This indicates that the ROI is fairly decent when compared to similar private institutes. If a student wants to experience a happening campus life and get industry-ready, then ASE Bengaluru is a good option.

Absolutely great for academics and placements, and poor for campus life.
Placements: In recent years, over 93% of students were placed, with 10.4 LPA being the average package and 54.7 LPA being the highest. The lowest placement package recorded was around 4 LPA. Companies like Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, etc. were among the top recruiting companies. A variety of internship programmes were offered. As a first-year student, I don't know much about them. I just know that some students have done internships at Google.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure in the department is top-tier, and the Wi-Fi has great speed on campus. There are over 50,000 books in the college library. But the college hostel is not really good, from what I have heard. I am a day scholar, so I don't know much about it. From my classmates' experiences, the mess food is really bad, and the canteen is overpriced. Apart from the food, the hostel is great.
Faculty: We have experienced and trained faculty members teaching us. We can approach them anytime, and they help us with our doubts. The curriculum was last updated in 2023. We need to learn two new subjects, Master Over Mind (Yoga) and ADM History classes. The semester exams are really hard, and the tough competition makes it even more difficult to get good grades.
Other: I have liked coding from a very young age, so I chose this branch. The amount of exposure we get from this college made me choose this college even more. The campus life is boring because the main focus is on academics. There are many traditional events like Ramayana and Ganapati Din. There is also a huge event for Mata Amrita Amma's birthday. The annual fest, Vidyut, is also really great. The rest of the events are low-tier.

The college has good faculty members, infrastructure, and decent placements.
Placements: A good percentage of students are being placed or receiving internship offers, like 60-80% of people who opted for placements are getting good offers, and it’s the highest compared to any other course on campus. Top recruiters include Palo Alto, Deloitte, SAP, Amazon, Meesho, etc. Most of them offer SDE roles in their firms, and the packages start near 6 LPA and go up to 25-30 LPA and even more through off-campus placements. Almost the same companies mentioned are giving internships and eventually a permanent offer. Research students are more likely to get internships from the college side.
Infrastructure: Well-maintained classrooms with projectors, non-AC, power sockets, multiple Wi-Fi, a good central library with digital contents, and a dedicated reading room. There are multiple computer and other labs, well maintained, air-conditioned, and premium restrooms (not all but a few). Good hostel (lakeside), international hostel for foreign students, pure veg mess, and canteen with decent food. Great medical facilities with a nearby campus clinic (with urgent medicine and ambulance facilities) and a medical college. There is a sports complex that consists of almost all sports, a swimming pool, several badminton courts inside campus, etc.
Faculty: Good enough teachers, more experienced faculty members from the 2nd year, but the teachers are helpful and can be contacted at any moment for guidance. Most of the teachers from semester 1 itself are Ph.D. scholars, postgraduates, etc., and are able to handle the subject in a professional way. Teaching quality and content are good and relevant, but we have to put in more effort to beat the top 1% and become industry-ready. Semester exams have medium to high difficulty, I would say, compared to most of the state colleges because they try to align the syllabus similar to NIT or IIT.
Other: In our campus as well as in the country, CSE has the most options and relevancy, and my interest also lies with software development. I would say the campus is best for this course. I would recommend more Gen Z courses. One thing I am sad about with this college is that it has only a few fests, which include Vidyut (national level). It has good connectivity, like a nearby bus station and railway station within a 10 km radius. Campus surroundings are good, lush green, with a well-maintained garden, park, footpath, etc. This college offers scholarships through AEEE as well as JEE Main scores, and scholarships are slab-based.

Overall, the college is good, but there are some flaws.
Placements: Students who do not have any back papers are pushing to get placed in S7 itself. Faculty members are very helpful to them. Around 190 companies come to our college every year. The highest package now in our college is 48 LPA, and the average is around 10 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good, with a big campus, and Wi-Fi is provided for every student. Lab and library facilities are excellent. Wi-Fi is available in hostels too, but it is a bit slow there. For food, I would give 1/5, not only because it is vegetarian but also because the quality is bad.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-educated and all are researchers. However, the teaching quality needs to be improved. They know the subject, but the way they convey it is not good. The curriculum for our stream is updated. There are some non-academic subjects like CIR, which manage placements and prepare students for the industry.
Other: While talking about Amrita, the first thing that comes to mind is placement, and it is pretty good here. Festivals and events in our college are not many. The clubs here are good. AmFOS is number one in India, and the other clubs are also very good.

Greatly satisfied with the curriculum and the faculty's good placement records.
Placements: Almost 90 percent of the students are placed in the course with the highest package, 43 LPA, and the lowest package is nearly 5 LPA, and the average package was 6 LPA, but it varies every year. Top recruiting companies like Dell, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Infosys, and so on visited the campus to hire the students. Almost every student got internships offer at the end of the course.
Infrastructure: Universities are always at the top in terms of infrastructure, good and well-equipped labs, and a library. All labs and the library are well-maintained with air conditioning. They provide a 24/7 Wi-Fi facility inside the hostel room. Regarding the quality of food in the hostel is in top notch, but sometimes it may fail. But it is a common issue faced by students in every college.
Faculty: They provide very knowledgeable and helpful faculty to the students, and their teaching quality is good, but some faculty members are not like that. Regarding curriculum, we get more exposure to this, which prepares students for industry purposes. About the level in semester exams, it depends on the faculty.

At last, I just want to conclude by saying that we can join here in case of anything.
Placements: I feel the highest package in our batch was 22 LPA. I guess I don't remember exactly, but it is almost 20-22 LPA in this course, which is EAC. It comes from the ECE department, but many people try to apply for software jobs rather than core companies because if we want to go to a core company, we need to be very good in fundamentals, and still, they may not offer a really good package.

Faculty: Semester exams are pretty easy in semester 1 and semester 2, but as you move to higher semesters, you will get into core subjects, and the papers will be hard, with evaluation being very strict, so it is hard to score higher marks in semester exams. we can only score better in internal exams.
Other: This course is a really good course if your aim is a good job after your B.Tech. If you want to study further and want to write the GATE exam to go into IITs with this course, we can't write the GATE Exam perfectly.

Absolutely dissatisfied with placements.
Placements: 55 percent were placed as of now, and interviews are still going on. The highest package is 24 LPA (Arista Networks/SAP Labs), and the lowest is 5 LPA. Many got internship opportunities, and the recruiters included Amazon, ISRO, Visa, SAP Labs, Synopsys, Honeywell, Caterpillar, Alphaweave, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, but still needs improvements. The hostel is fine, but sometimes the mess food is a big headache because when some local students go home during holidays, the mess food is the worst at night. However, during breakfast and lunch, it’s good for the amount they charge per year.
Faculty: The teaching quality is good. Teachers are highly qualified. However, they don't provide exactly what the industry wants from us, so we need to externally learn all those things. The odd semesters are very tough. The cutoff as of now is strictly 40 (overall, including internal and external).
Other: Coming to events, there aren't many events conducted, but they are good for spending time.
