The online/distance degrees offered by the Centre for Distance and Online Education at Annamalai University are valid. Previously, the University Grants Commission (UGC) did not approve its courses starting from 2015. However, Annamalai University DDE received relief from the Madras High Court in an order dated 21.01.2023. Subsequently, following a reassessment by the UGC, Annamalai DDE achieved a qualifying score of 3.38, which led to extending the validity of its programmes until 2027.
Annamalai University DDE offers courses at UG, PG, Diploma and certificate levels in distance education mode. The on-campus courses at Annamalai University are duly approved/accredited by apex bodies like NAAC (Grade A+), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), etc. Some of the popular courses at Annamalai DDE includes MA, BFA and MBA. Annamalai University Distance Education offers admission to candidates based on their merit. Candidates can get a seat directly through Spot Admission. The fees for UG courses at Annamalai University Tamil Nadu is very less comparatively to other colleges it is around INR 3,000-10,000 per year for courses like BFA and BSc and they are similar but a little high for B.Tech courses. Annamalai University DDE provides exemption from payment of tuition fee, special fees and alumni fees to differently-abled students including those visually challenges residing in Tamil Nadu. However, they are required to pay other prescribes fees such as admission fee, registration fees, eligibility fee, postage, PCP fee, etc.

The MBA programme offers two years of study with the following specializations: financial management, hospital management, business analytics and business intelligence, marketing management, human resource management, and information systems. The course cost is INR 58,260 per year, and the application process is online.
