M.A. in Advertising and Brand Communication - Batch of 2024

There is no proper resources or opportunities.
Placements: Placements were very poor for our course. Packages ranged between 3 LPA and 4 LPA. There were no great recruiting companies. The majority of students were unable to get placed. There were no internship opportunities as such. We were told that we would be given good opportunities, but we did not get any of them.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was very basic with mid-level facilities. Wi-Fi never worked. There were two buildings old and new. We hardly had any classes in the new building. The canteen was always crowded. There were no such facilities. There was a decent library and the classrooms were fine. AC was available but hardly worked in the old building.
Faculty: The only good thing about this college was the faculty. They were encouraging, friendly, supportive, and helped us whenever we needed help. They truly cared for us and taught us well. They had real insights and industry knowledge. The semester exams were also very easy. Anybody could pass them without much difficulty.

Satisfied with this college.
Placements: Placement opportunities in my course are moderate, with around 50-60% of students getting internships or project-based work in media and production companies. The average package is basic for freshers, but students gain good practical exposure. Common roles offered included assistant director, editor, cameraman, and production assistant.
Infrastructure: Classroom is with a full soundproof studio, Wi-Fi connection, and a film screening studio also available. The library is also excellent with beautiful books. We also have sufficient editing systems. We also have a canteen with tasty food, drinks, and snacks. We also have a sports day celebration in college to grow students' physical and health education.
Faculty: We have supportive faculty and are friendly in nature with students. I think they make students ready for industrial level. As per my point of view, the exam is not much difficult because teachers are already teaching and ready for students. All the students are also satisfied with their percentage, I guess.
Other: I chose post-production, and the good thing about this course is that it helps me grow as an editor at the film industry level. The editing teacher is good, and in the editing lab, we have editing systems available.

B.Sc. in Cinema (Direction) - Batch of 2027

2Placements1Infrastructure2Faculty1Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
It’s value for money, for those who aren't serious about their future.
Placements: No placement, for maximum courses, it's a film school that focuses on everything except filmmaking. The maximum placement you can get here is with 1 LPA. Also, most probably not in filmmaking, they even advise us to go find work in Mumbai, so don't come here with any expectations.
Infrastructure: The hostel got shut down, and the infrastructure of the institute isn't that great. The food in the hostel was infested with insects, they took 1 year's money and made us leave in the year. The infrastructure of the college is really small, and it's also too old.
Faculty: If I talk about my experience, only my direction teacher is good, and I guess I shouldn't talk about others. The curriculum is also bad. Exams are pointless, I guess, and it's okay for this mid-tier college. Also, the course curriculum isn't relevant. I rate it 4/10 in total.

M.Sc. in Cinema (Cinematography) - Batch of 2026

The current faculty members are good.
Placements: The placements provided are mainly based on commercial shoots. There are not many cinema placement opportunities as such. There are mainly advertisements, product shoots, etc. You can still get an interview experience from this. It's a good place to gain exposure.
Infrastructure: Better equipment is required. Particularly, cameras are used for the completion of the degree. Though overall, as a cinematography student, I feel there were multiple sessions for us to get equipped with studio lighting and gain a bit of practical exposure.
Faculty: Most of the current teachers are very well versed in their departments. I have received guidance and proper mentorship from the faculty, which has helped me gain knowledge and practical experience in lighting and camera. The faculty has been very encouraging, and I feel I have great insights into the craft of filmmaking because of the faculty.
Other: The structure is too rigid for studying cinema.

I am adequately satisfied. I gathered a lot from this college and have evolved as an individual.
Placements: I am a final year student pursuing M.Sc Cinema with Direction Specialisation. Various opportunities were made available to us, such as assistant directors, art directors, and cinematographers in the technical aspect of this medium. People from various production houses came to interview us and helped us gain exposure to the process on the set.
Infrastructure: We had four semesters over a period of two years, which were categorised from beginner to intermediate level of our understanding of cinema. We were taught about everything from scratch, and then the faculty guided us to have our own individual perspective on the world of cinema. As a direction student, I have evolved as an observer and gained an understanding of the technical aspect of the craft. There are studios and equipment for our practice and projects that we can use. There's a fully equipped library to welcome us into the world of media.
Faculty: Faculty members are very cooperative. I have gained very valuable mentorship and guidance from the faculty, and they have been very supportive throughout the course. I have seemed to be a part of a very collaborative approach to the teaching and have gained a lot of exposure.
Other: I personally enjoyed my specialisation subject.

AAFT is a great college.
Placements: Around 70–80% of students from our batch get placed through campus drives. The highest package is around 10-12 LPA, with companies including media agencies and production houses. Students also secure internships, and common roles offered are assistant director, video editor, cinematographer, and related positions.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is above average, with decent classrooms, labs, and a well-maintained library with Wi-Fi access. Hostel facilities are great with clean rooms and basic amenities. The food quality is good and hygienic. Medical and sports facilities are also excellent. It makes the overall campus comfortable.
Faculty: Faculty members are amazing in their respective fields. They are very supportive and focus on both theoretical and practical knowledge. The curriculum is relevant and provides a basic understanding of the industry. Semester exams are quite easy if students attend classes regularly. Evaluation is manageable. The pass percentage is high, with most students clearing exams without difficulty.
Other: I chose this course because I love filmmaking. The best thing about my course is that it is creative and gives scope for imagination. It would be better if the college added more practical knowledge to the curriculum. The rest of everything is good.
