Review of Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Sion, Mumbai - 22.
Placements: It’s a medical course in which you learn about medical science in both aspects: Ayurveda as well as modern medical science. It’s service-based, and some companies also provide jobs, just like placements. Nearly 70-80% of students get placed. B.A.M.S. is an Ayurveda course, and for Ayurveda, it’s the best.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Location-wise, it’s situated in mid-suburban Mumbai, which is convenient. The hostel facility is also good, but the food quality is a little disappointing sometimes. The staff behavior is a very good part of this college.
Faculty: Facilities for UG are excellent, and PG facilities are also good. Behaviour-wise, they are very good as well. The course curriculum is also good. After the 2021 changes through NCISM, many things changed post-COVID, with the focus mainly on practicals rather than theory, which was previously emphasized.
Other: It’s a good college for Maharashtra, as well as all India quota students, and many hospitals nearby, also provide exposure to the clinical aspect.

Satisfied by the faculty and management.
Placements: Most students are placed and earn a decent amount of money. Previous batches underwent a six-month college internship and spent the remaining six months in another hospital. However, NCISM has modified some rules. Now, students are required to complete a one-year internship at the college hospital.
Infrastructure: Our college boasts good infrastructure, offering comprehensive facilities and materials across all departments relevant to our subjects. In the first year, both anatomy dissection and physiology practicals are conducted efficiently. Moving into the second year, we have frequent visits to the botanical garden, totaling 3-4 times a week, which houses over 150 species of medicinal plants. Furthermore, our practical sessions in Rasashastra and Agadtantra are executed meticulously. Despite these excellent academic facilities, the college's physical structure leaves much to be desired. There are only two buildings that accommodate both the hospital and academic sections, and notably, there is a lack of a sports playground. Additionally, there are no hostel facilities provided for undergraduate students.
Faculty: Our teaching faculty is very proficient. All teachers possess excellent Ayurvedic and clinical knowledge. Lectures are conducted properly according to the schedule. The course comprises two semester exams and one external exam. The exam standards are commendable. The passing percentage is above 50.
Other: I didn't want to join this course earlier due to a lack of interest. However, because of the cut-off, I ended up in this course. It might have taken a while, but now there's some growing faith in my mind regarding it.

Absolutely satisfied with the academics and the OPD IPD facilities. Patient crowd is high.
Placements: This year, Panchkarma placements were really high. Many students got placements in kayachikitsa, which is the most emerging field in our industry. Even gynaecology and obstetrics are options for many bachelors. Our college is most famous for our panchakarma treatment.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at this college is good. The labs and classrooms are adequate, and the canteen food is acceptable. However, the college does not provide hostel facilities for UG students, so students must opt for other hostels or flats nearby, which can be expensive. On the plus side, the college library is excellent, with a quiet environment and WiFi facilities available.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable, and the difficulty level of the courses is fine. The course curriculum is relevant, and it is not as tough as people think. Most students find it difficult because of the Sanskrit, but once we get into the flow of things, it is easy. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: We celebrate all social and cultural events with great enthusiasm. We also have a week or two for sports.

It is a good college to become a good doctor.
Placements: All students got internships in government and private hospitals.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel in our college. We have to take PGs near our college. Our college helps us to get government hostels. Wi-Fi is not available in our college. Our college has a canteen. It does not provide many options to eat.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They have great knowledge of their fields. They help us to learn practical things. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: I wanted to become a good doctor, so I chose this course. It is an emerging course in our country. It has a better scope for the future. Sports and extracurricular activities are held in our college. It is a good college to get both Ayurvedic and modern medical knowledge.
