BMS College of Engineering eligibility criteria varies according to different programmes offered by the institute at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

• Candidates who have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with English as one of the languages and have obtained at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for SC, ST and Category-I candidates) in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Biology/ Electronics or Computer Science as optional subjects can apply for admission to the BE programme offered at BMS College of Engineering.

Candidates who want to take admission in the BE programme through management quota must have passed Class 12 examination with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/ CS/ Electronics with a minimum 60% aggregate. Candidates who have passed Diploma or equivalent examination with a minimum 45% aggregate (40% marks in case of SC, ST and backward classes candidates from Karnataka) are eligible to apply for BMS College BE admission through lateral entry.

• Candidate who have a BE/ BTech degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum 50% aggregate (45% marks in case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates from Karnataka) are eligible to apply for admission to the M.Tech programme. BMS College eligibility criteria for MBA programme is a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 50% aggregate (45% marks for SC, ST and Category-I candidates from Karnataka) taken together in all the subjects including language subject.
• Candidate who have passed the Bachelor’s degree examination with Mathematics/ Statistics/ CS/ Computer Application/ Computer Programming/ Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects with a minimum 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC, ST and Category-I candidates from Karnataka) can apply for BMS College of Engineering MCA admission.

Candidates must follow certain procedure to take admission in any of the undergraduate or postgraduate programme offered at BMS College of Engineering. The procedure begins with filling out the BMSCE application form followed by an appearance in the entrance exam and counselling process. BMS College of Engineering course admission for all the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes is entirely based on entrance examination. Given below is the step wise BMS College admission process:

STEP 1: Candidates must fill out the detailed BMS College of Engineering application form which is available on the BMSCE website. 

STEP 2: Then, candidates must appear for the entrance examination according to the programme for which they wish to apply for. BMS College of Engineering accepts the scores of KCET, COMEDK, Karnataka PGCET, KMAT, CMAT and various other entrance exams for admission in specific programmes.

STEP 3: After candidates receive the entrance scores, they must appear for the counselling process, confirm the seat and must pay BMS College admission fees.

BMS College of Engineering mostly takes entrance based admission but also offers a management quota available to aspirants of BE. Candidates should have attained at least 60 percent in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or related subjects at Class 12 under this quota. The direct admission is on the availability basis.

BMS College of Engineering admissions are entrance based. Candidates who wish to take admission to any of the undergraduate or postgraduate programmes offered at BMS College of Engineering must appear for the entrance examination. The College does not offer direct admission to candidates in any of the programmes. Candidates who wish to take admission to the BE programme must appear for either KCET or COMEDK and admission to the MTech programme at BMSCE is made through GATE or Karnataka PGCET.
