Honest review of BMS College of Engineering.
Placements: For the batch of 2024, my seniors mentioned that only a few opted for campus placements. The average package for Mechanical Engineering ranges from INR 10 to INR 12 lakhs. Last year, one senior secured a package of INR 18 lakhs. Volvo, Tata, and Benz were some of the recruiting companies. According to my seniors, maintaining a good connection with the department can help in securing internships easily.
Infrastructure: There’s a huge library with a vast collection of reference books and study materials. Free Wi-Fi is available for both students and faculty, and the classrooms are fully air-conditioned. Although I don’t stay in the hostel, I’ve heard the food there is pretty good. There are separate international and Indian hostels that serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. The overall hostel fee is about INR 3 lakhs.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and supportive in all aspects. The teaching quality varies from one teacher to another; some teachers are so good that they make a topic easily understandable in just one lecture. The curriculum prepares us well for the industry with the latest knowledge of computer-aided design software. Semester exams, especially for Mechanical Engineering, can be challenging due to the extensive numerical problems involved.
Other: My interest in cars and mechanical systems set me apart from software-based courses. The best aspects of this course are its practical applications and hands-on projects. Adding more industry-based topics earlier in the course could make it even more interesting. BMSCE hosts an annual fest and several department-specific programs throughout the year. One thing the college could improve on is having a larger playground, but since it's located in the city center, space is limited.

BMSCE in 2024 amid all the buzz.
Placements: Placements are decent at the college and among the best in Bangalore. The median package is 9 LPA according to the NIRF report. Companies like Dell, HP, and Fidelity Investments actively hire from the college. Almost 80% of the students get placed through the college. Various roles, such as analyst, SDET, and SDE, are offered by these companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good in the PJ block but not as good in the PG block. Computer cluster and ECE students have classes in the PJ block. The labs and classrooms have good infrastructure, and centralized AC is available. Hostel accommodation is not guaranteed for every student, as the hostels are spread out, with only 2-3 close to the college while others are farther away. The hostels are spacious and decent, though the mess food is just okay.
Faculty: The curriculum is relevant to the current market. Faculty members are average; however, some senior professors excel in teaching and have strong industrial connections. Projects are assigned each semester, allowing students to gain significant learning experiences. Semester exams are not difficult; if a student has studied during the semester, they will easily pass. The pass percentage is typically greater than 90%.
Other: Utsav is the cultural fest, and Phase Shift is the technical fest that happens annually.

Everything about BMSCE you need to know.
Placements: More than 350+ companies visit the campus for placements. The placement percentage is more than 85%. The highest package was 48 LPA. The median package is 12 LPA. More than 100 companies offer internships, with stipends varying from 25,000 to 100,000 per month.
Infrastructure: The classroom is quite modern, with a massive digital monitor serving as a blackboard along with projectors and speakers. All classes are air-conditioned, with good ventilation and windows. The mess food quality is okayish, and it is primarily South Indian.
Faculty: The teachers are quite friendly and cooperative as they are trained for it. The course curriculum is quite good and industry-oriented. There are three internal exams, out of which the best two are taken into account. The exams are of moderate difficulty.
Other: The course is highly practical and life-oriented. Most of the courses offer a high degree of flexibility. There's always round-the-clock events taking place around the campus. The campus crowd is very friendly and cooperative. There are two main fests: PhaseShift, which is a technical fest, and Utsav, which is a cultural fest. There are more than 22 clubs in the college.

BMS college in a better view .
Placements: The placement of the college is quite good because of its strategic location in Bengaluru. Many companies, including Amazon and Dell, also visit. The average package is quite good for CSE as well as for ECE students, about 13-15 LPA. The average for the overall college is 10.4 LPA as of 2023 placements.
Infrastructure: The campus is small, but the buildings are used quite well, and you will get almost all the facilities. However, for sports, there is only one ground and one indoor stadium, so all the sports have some timings. The best part of BMS is the PJ block, which is one of the best buildings, not only for its design but also for its location.
Faculty: The curriculum of the college is quite good, but it needs some changes because it is not currently up to industry standards. However, the placement help, alumni network, and internship opportunities you will get in college are good. If you are from Bengaluru, then you should definitely consider it.
Other: The campus life is awesome but not the same for everyone. For PG students, it will be problematic in terms of food items, especially for North Indian students.
