Master of Computer Applications (MCA) - Batch of 2026

There are mixed reviews about the university.
Placements: Probably above 70% of students get placed from the passed-out batches of our college. MCA records the best placement results with superb packages every year. The top-rated offer received by an MCA student in 2025 is 26.7 LPA.
Faculty: Teachers maintain enthusiastic classrooms with great positivity. They are supportive during exam coaching. However, students with backlogs are not supported for their future arrear examinations with the necessary book materials and guides.
Other: It is a university that helps me sort out my problems and helps me a better version of myself. The college believes in students' talents and encourages us to participate in events held in other colleges. There are busy schedules for organizing college events.

My honest review of my college.
Placements: In Chitkara, major companies like Accenture, Infosys, and Wipro visit the college for campus recruitments. It offers free internships with a job offer. It also pays a low stipend as per their policies. Even after the graduation is completed, companies are still being called, and students are getting placed.
Infrastructure: In hostels, the mess food is pretty good. ACs, study tables, and washrooms are provided along with the room. However, the fees for the hostel are pretty high when compared to other colleges. Mess food charges are nominal and at par with others.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, but we should only know what they are supposed to tell us about the course, and not much. Not that students asked for more anyways. One teacher has to teach more than one subject, but as it is related to computers, it all worked out. The course curriculum is good as per career requirements. It includes all practical as well as theoretical work. We get experience with labs in class through laptops. Nowadays, this is a common trend, but in those days, it was useful.
Other: We will always not have the best campus life, but it is okay just because of rules and regulations. The gender ratio is about 50-50. For extracurricular activities, it is the best place. There are different clubs that we can join according to our interests.

Students who are well focused and hardworking, can gain a good package from campus.
Placements: Talking about the percentage of students placed, then it's a very small amount. Around 40% of students are there who are getting placement. Rest are studying and preparing. The highest package I heard was 19 LPA, the lowest was 3 LPA, and the average is like 5 to 6 LPA. Schneider, TechMahindra, and Microsoft are some of the major companies. For internships, around 40 to 50% of students got selected. Roles offered are full-stack developer, software developer, and data analyst. Now a days, ML engineers are also in demand. But there's not any hiring for it right now.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good as it is a private university. Fee is also a bit high There are well-maintained labs, high-speed internet on the whole campus, and separate libraries for each department. Talking about hostels and mess, then it's a problem for some of the students. 70% are happy, but 30% say it's not good. The food is fixed for the whole week. And also, they don't get the good taste of it. Hostel rooms are very small, and a real problem occurs in summers when coolers don't work properly.
Faculty: Curriculum is well planned but not well executed. There are a handful of teachers who are willing to support and work hard for their students. The majority of them just pass the time, do the formalities, and run. Also, teaching is an art that many of our faculty members should need to learn. Semester exams are not very difficult. Coding exams might give some difficulties. A student needs to earn 40% per subject to pass it for a semester. Courses don't make students well prepared for industries, but their self-education and hard work do.
Other: I have chosen this course due to the increasing demand of the software and AI/ML industries. Also, companies offer a good package if the student is capable of these skills, like AI engineer, web developer, data analyst, and so on. The college should offer more teacher talks and industry visits to students. They should also hire good teachers who actually have the talent to teach. Talking about events and functions, Chitkara offers a number of events for students to enjoy, so that's good.

College is good, you can come here.
Placements: The highest package is 1.11 crore, and the average package is around 6-8 LPA. You can come here if you have great skills and a sharp mind. University teachers and the dean will support you, providing excellent opportunities and good placements, so there's no need to worry.
Infrastructure: Sports facilities are very good; all sports options are available. Wi-Fi and labs are well-maintained, and classrooms are also good. There are 2-3 libraries, all fully air-conditioned, creating a friendly college vibe. Visiting is also welcome.
Faculty: Teachers are very friendly and well-qualified. They will support you whenever you need help, solving your problems. There are 2 main tests each semester, along with end-term exams and lab evaluations. You will learn new things and gain valuable knowledge.
Other: There are many events and competition daily.

My experience at Chitkara so far.
Placements: Chitkara gets about 80% placement. The highest package is 1.11 crore, the average package is 9–10 LPA, and the lowest is 4.5 LPA. The top companies include Amazon, TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, etc. Around 40% to 60% of students get internships from companies like Wipro, Deloitte, Infosys, and Microsoft. The top roles offered are Software Developer, Full Stack Developer, DevOps Engineer, and Data Analyst.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure range from above average to very good. Wi-Fi speed is excellent, with over 150 Mbps. One major disappointment is that there is no Wi-Fi signal in Square 1 canteen area. Classrooms are also good, and every class has air conditioning. The library is well-maintained, with multiple libraries including one main library. The quality of food is very good most of the time. There are many food outlets, Domino's, Barista, Subway, and Keventers are also available. Sports facilities are very good, including a volleyball court, skating rink, basketball court, pickleball, carrom, chess, badminton court, and my favorite, a pool.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and highly qualified. My Maths teacher studied at IIT. The course curriculum is good and highly adaptive to the future industry landscape. The semester exams are practical in nature, focusing more on practical knowledge than theoretical, which helps me better understand the real-world applications.
Other: I chose this course because of the financial prospects, to be honest. But this course also helps me understand things more easily. It has improved my thinking ability like when I code, there are many methods to solve one problem. To be honest, this course can improve if we integrate different subjects together, like Maths with coding, so it would help if they also explained where each part of Maths is useful in the course. Events are good, the campus crowd is awesome, and the connectivity is also good. The campus surroundings are great very clean and not too vibrant, giving a calm vibe.

Review of engineering colleges near Chandigarh.
Placements: Almost everyone gets placed in the last year if they do not have any backlogs, as Chitkara University is famous for its mass placements. The highest package goes up to 25 LPA, whereas the average package is 3-4 LPA. Almost everyone is supposed to get an internship in the 6th semester. Some get internships in small industries, while others get them in big companies like iOS.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the campus is not very good as it is very small. The buildings are not so big. Hostellers are asked to attend classes in the evening, between 4:00 PM and 9:30 PM. Classes have proper Wi-Fi connections, and the library has all academic-related books but not other books. There are clubs for co-curricular activities, and all sports facilities are available.
Faculty: Facilities are qualified enough. Teachers who teach are either Ph.D. holders or are pursuing their Ph.D. They all are very helpful and knowledgeable, but the backup teachers are not as impressive. The curriculum is up-to-date and according to industry needs. Exams are held three times a semester, along with the end-term exam. Exams are either moderate or hard.
Other: I chose CSE after watching its need in current industrial life. My course is very useful and very much needed in today's world. I wish to start an internship in the second year of my course this is one thing I would like to improve. A lot of fests happen every year, along with extracurricular activities and hackathons. But, the college does not provide any scholarships, even on a merit basis.
