The objective of the MFA in Painting curriculum at the College of Arts is designed to further develop the student's skills while promoting personal development on the basis of research in different styles of painting and the associated technology. Developing on
previous coursework work in creative working, students will establish a concept for a body of work. Abstraction, combination of medium, stylisation, utilising reality as basis of design based painting, utilising form,  distortion and simplification will
be facilitated.

The subjects offered in the first year of the MFA in Applied Art at the College of Arts are a combination of theoretical and practical subjects.
