Review of College of Engineering, Karunagappally.
Placements: The yearly fee structure is Rs 35,000 for merit, Rs 65,000 for management seats, and 1 lakh for NRI seats. Eligibility to get admission 10, and +2 with 50% and KEAM. B.Tech in electronics and communication engineering has 30 seats in our college. Major companies that have been recruited from our college are Wipro, IBS, Infosys, UST Global, TCS, CTS, Accenture Technologies, Suntech Business Solution, Ernst & Young, QSpiders, 6D Technologies, ECSFIN, and Capgemini.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities for boys has been started three years back. Hostel facilities for girls are available earlier than that. At the time of admission, since hostels are available students stayed at nearby places where they provided paying guest facilities. The expenses of the college hostel are split equally among the inmates.
Faculty: Teachers are supportive of academic activities. Some of the faculty members are interested in learning new topics and increasing their knowledge. Students get their doubts cleared. Encourages students in academic activities. The laboratory staff of our college is helpful. They give complete details of the experiments. There are 2 internal exams for each paper and an external exam. Internal exams are conducted for 20 marks each and 10 marks for assignments and others. Need 75% of attendance and a minimum of 22, and around 5 out of 50 in the internal exam for satisfying the eligibility to write the external exam. An external exam is conducted by this university for 100 marks.
Other: The events are NSS day, arts day i.e Daksha, sports day i.e Karna, technical fest i.e Auriga, IEEE day, technical workshops, Onam with mega fests, Christmas, Holi, Gandhi Jayanthi, and Teachers day. The extracurricular activities are not well supported by this college. The students take the initiatives to make it happen. There are four main student organizations i.e NSS, IEDC, IEEE, and ISTE, and 3 department organizations like CECIA for the computer science department, ELEKTOR for the electrical department, and ASECTRON for the electronics department. Events and workshops are held. In addition to that, it provides good laboratory facilities and good playground.

Excellent faculty, labs, good infrastructure, and nature friendly campus.
Placements: About 60% of students are placed in electronics and communication engineering and the rest 40% went for higher studies as this course has a wide variety of opportunities. It is quite advisable for students to do master's in the various sub-courses offered like VLSI and embedded system. Top recruiters are Wipro, Infosys, Intel, etc.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is quite good and all types of machines and equipments are available for various labs. Hostel infrastructure is also fine. Regular meals and different types of food are available every day. The college has an excellent library that has a variety of engineering books, journals, and magazines. The campus is installed with Wi-Fi in every block. There are seminar halls and different kinds of labs apart from the main labs such as the project labs, etc.
Faculty: Our college has excellent faculty members who give quality education. They are always available to assist the students. Teaching is through smart board, presentation, and practical ways. The university curriculum is fine but not satisfactory. It has given limited time for the completion of courses. But students, if worked hard and make use of all the facilities, they are almost molded to be industry ready. The semester exams are of moderate difficulties. The pass percentage of the exam is 40%.
Other: Electronics and communication engineering has got a wide variety of opportunities and it is recommendable to do master's offered in this course such as VLSI. Our college is also affiliated with international organisations for engineers like IEEE which provides wide amount of educational opportunities to engineers by providing educational workshops, events, and webinars. Besides that, there are other organisations for startup opportunities and many other organisations.
