Supportive faculty, decent campus life, but it needs more industry-oriented curriculum.
Placements: The CSE department at B.C. Roy Engineering College consistently achieves strong placement results. As of the 2024-25 placement season, around 80% of students from CSE core branches, including CSE, secured placements. Top recruiters offer deserving roles like software engineer, programmer analyst, and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are spacious, equipped with projectors and audio systems for smart learning. High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the academic building, labs, and library. The hostel facilities are decent, offering both single and shared accommodation.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, approachable, and knowledgeable in their respective fields. Many of them hold strong academic qualifications and have good subject expertise, though the teaching style may vary from teacher to teacher. Some focus more on theory, while others try to give practical insights.
Other: I chose this course because of my strong interest in engineering. The campus life at B.C. Roy Engineering College is vibrant, with events, fests, and extracurricular activities.

To summarize-the college is good.
Placements: The placements are quite good, compared to other colleges in Durgapur (except NIT Durgapur). The college has good connections with recruiting companies like Wipro, TCS, Capgemini, and Infosys. So every year a good amount of students gets placed. I won't say everyone gets placed, but about 70-80% of them get placed. The average package range around 5-6 LPA, while the highest go up to 12-15 LPA. If you are from CSE core, IT, ECE, there are high chances of cracking a good package, but comparing to other departments there are high chances.
Infrastructure: The college has an overall good infrastructure. Classrooms are quite spacious and labs have all the modern instruments. Personally being a CSE student, the computer lab is very good. For the 1st & 2nd years they do not provide AC in every classroom, but for most of the labs, AC rooms are provided. Canteens are also good and affordable. The good thing is you get Wi-Fi support all around the campus. They also have a library, which is good, but during exam session it feels crowded.
Faculty: All the faculty are graduates from colleges like NIT, IITs, and other top institutes. For most subjects, you get good teachers. But for a few faculty, you might not feel like they really teach well. Semester examinations are being held on time and in a disciplined manner. For most of the exam papers, you won't find them hard if you study. The course definitely helps to make you industry-ready, but you still have to put effort in your own to shine among your peers.
Other: The college is very forward in organizing events throughout the years. They organize a range of events related to different fields, which give you a chance to shine if you participate in them. If I talk about the cultural fest,it is being held once a year in January. And right after, they organize a technical fest.

The college is overall good and decent.
Placements: About 70% of the students have secured placements in reputed companies like TCS, Infosys, etc. My course is new at the college, so it has not yet had placements, as we are the second batch. However, the minimum package for B.Tech in CSE is 6 LPA; the average is 10 LPA, and the highest is 16 LPA. Sixty percent of the students obtained internships at Accenture, NITs, etc. The top roles offered include data scientist, backend developer, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure facilities available at the college are good and decent. However, the quality of the hostel is not very good. The quality of food in the mess is average, but the medical facilities are good. There are various opportunities for sports and games for students.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful and approachable, and the quality of teaching is good. The course curriculum is relevant and meets industry needs, covering subjects such as Python, C, etc. The difficulty of semester exams ranges from medium to difficult, with a pass percentage of at least 40%.
Other: I chose this course because of the industry need and high demand in the market. The course could be improved by providing real-time projects each semester to address real-world scenarios. In my college, fests and various events are conducted. The campus environment is pleasant, and there are scholarship opportunities for students. Extra-curricular activities are conducted every month.

Our college is the best private college in West Bengal.
Placements: In our college, up to 80% of students get placement in good companies like Capgemini, TCS, Infosys, or other companies. They come to our college, conduct interviews, and give placements to the students of our college. The average package is 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is very good, Wi-Fi is available everywhere on the college campus. In labs, AC is available, classrooms are very good, and the library is available.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful to us; they are qualified from big universities like Jadavpur University, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bombay, or others. They prepare every student for their future. Semester exams are easy for you if you prepare well for the exam.
Other: I love Computer Science Engineering. Without Computer Science Engineering, nothing would be possible in this world. There is nothing to improve in our college. In the engineering college, events are compulsory, and the college fest is held in February.

It has supportive faculty and extraordinary infrastructure. It is worth the investment.
Placements: The percentage of students who got placed is about 40%. The highest package is 6 LPA, and the lowest package is 2.96 LPA. The average package is 4 LPA. The top recruiting companies for our course are Capgemini and Cognizant. The percentage of students who got internships is 70% at Globsyn Finishing School. The top role offered is a game developer.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are equipped with CCTV and projectors. It has smart classrooms, two auditoriums, an ATM and banking facilities, power backup, a gym, a Wi-Fi Campus, fully equipped laboratories (AC only in computer laboratories ), lifts, two libraries with every type of book, a ragging-free campus, two canteens, 24x7 medical emergency service, and a highly secured campus. There is a separate hostel for 1st year and seniors with 24x7 security, medical services, and separate dining. The mess food is good. There is a common room with an indoor game facility.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified. A maximum of teachers are PhD holders. They have a great in-depth knowledge of a particular subject. They are humble and helpful. Their teaching quality is of top-class. The course curriculum is new and relevant. It makes students industry-ready in the IT field with specialisation in augmented reality and virtual reality. The difficulty level of exams is average, not hard, and not easy. If students study at least 2 hours a day, then they can pass easily with a decent SGPA. The pass percentage is 90%.

BBA in Hospital Management - Batch of 2024

It depends on you to get a good placement, but to be honest, nowadays don't waste your time.
Placements: Maximum students were placed but not in the best companies. Medicover, Neotia, and Paras recruited students. Everyone did an internship in many reputed hospitals. The highest package was 20k in hand, and the lowest was 9k in hand. Many students got placed as trainee front office staff.
Infrastructure: The college structure was not that good. They don't focus on quality education. The college does have computer rooms with AC, benches, and fans, but the washrooms were too bad. Games were good, and students used to participate in competitions. The competitions were good, innovative, and the prizes were exciting.
Faculty: Few teachers were good and supportive, but some were not dedicated towards teaching. The curriculum was relevant and industry-ready. Exams were easy if you study well. Questions were relatable, not out of syllabus, easy to remember, and helpful in industry life.
Other: A hospital management course can guarantee a job for sure, but it doesn't guarantee a good-paying one.
