The college is good and decent. I am dissatisfied with the hostel infrastructure.
Placements: The placement facility is good in comparison with other engineering colleges in West Bengal. This college is famous for its placements. 80% of students got placed. The highest package of this college is 14 LPA and the lowest package is 6 LPA. The average package is 9 LPA. So, the package is decent. The top recruiting companies that offer internships are Infosys, TCS, Tata, Accenture, Wipro, Cognizant, IBM, etc. Almost 70% of students got internships from reputed companies like TCS, NIT Durgapur, and Microsoft. Roles offered are data scientist, software engineer, and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Facilities offered by the department are good, and the Wi-Fi speed is good. All labs have well-working equipment. The infrastructure of the library is below average and various types of books are not available for students. The library doesn't have CCTV. Wi-Fi and air-conditioning are available which makes students comfortable during summer in the library. The quality of food is also miserable in the mess and canteen, even the hygiene is not maintained. Medical facilities are bad, and the medical unit is closed after 5:30 and it is not available 24 hours. Sports and games are promoted here but to some extent.
Faculty: Faculty members of our department are very good, supportive, helpful, and encouraging. They are well-qualified and have proper knowledge of their respective subjects. They guide students in their respective subjects which makes students ready for the industry. Semester exams conducted by the college are difficult to medium and invigilation is strict. The pass percentage in university exams is a minimum of 40% which is a decent mark.
Other: I chose this course because it combines my interest in technology with the power of data-driven decision-making. The best thing about my course it combines coding with data skills and machine learning which is beneficial for future jobs. Things that can be improved in my course are students should not only be limited to bookish knowledge but the project/research paper should be added to each semester for better understanding. Events are good and fun with a lot of dance and music. Extracurricular activities happen each month including plantation, street drama, music, and dance competitions.

The college is overall good and decent.
Placements: About 70% of the students have secured placements in reputed companies like TCS, Infosys, etc. My course is new at the college, so it has not yet had placements, as we are the second batch. However, the minimum package for B.Tech in CSE is 6 LPA; the average is 10 LPA, and the highest is 16 LPA. Sixty percent of the students obtained internships at Accenture, NITs, etc. The top roles offered include data scientist, backend developer, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure facilities available at the college are good and decent. However, the quality of the hostel is not very good. The quality of food in the mess is average, but the medical facilities are good. There are various opportunities for sports and games for students.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful and approachable, and the quality of teaching is good. The course curriculum is relevant and meets industry needs, covering subjects such as Python, C, etc. The difficulty of semester exams ranges from medium to difficult, with a pass percentage of at least 40%.
Other: I chose this course because of the industry need and high demand in the market. The course could be improved by providing real-time projects each semester to address real-world scenarios. In my college, fests and various events are conducted. The campus environment is pleasant, and there are scholarship opportunities for students. Extra-curricular activities are conducted every month.

Great Hands-on Learning and Vibrant Campus Life, but Really Needs More Industry Exposure.
Placements: Generally 85-90 percent of students from various departments like CSE Civil ECE get placed in different companies like Accenture TCS Capgemini JSW Meil Ultratech Cognizant Wipro etc. The highest package offered is 17 LPA by Accenture and the average package is around 5-8 LPA. Most students get internships at Celebal Technologies Tata Motors Durgapur Steel Plant DVC etc. Personally I got a paid internship in CK and Sons Textile as a data analyst intern. Overall according to campus placements the college is good.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs are decent. Personally in our lab (Data Science lab) there were 3 classrooms and 2 labs consisting of projectors and advanced computers in each class and lab. Regarding hostel facilities the quality of food in the two canteens is good and affordable. Our college is in MOU with Mission Hospital Durgapur so the medical facilities are good. Regarding sports there are basketball and volleyball courts and cricket and football grounds. Various competitions are held every year in cricket and football. That's all about it.
Faculty: The course curriculum in my college is a mix of both challenging and engaging elements. While the overall structure is good it can be difficult at times especially when it comes to exams. There are multiple exams throughout the year including CA1 CA2 CA3 CA4 PCA1 PCA2 and the final practical and theory exams. Failing in these exams is possible particularly if students don't stay on top of their studies. The good aspects of my course include the well rounded content that prepares us for the real world while the bad aspects include the rigid exam structure which can feel overwhelming. There are usually five theory classes and two practical sessions of one hour each every day. This leaves students with very little free time which is why many of us end up bunking classes occasionally just to catch a break. In terms of teaching methodology the faculty members generally follow a traditional approach but try to make the content engaging through discussions and practical examples. I admire my HOD because of their depth of knowledge and supportive teaching style. On the other hand some faculty members are less appreciated due to their monotonous teaching and lack of student interaction. Attendance is a serious issue as there is a mandatory 75 percent attendance rule. If students don't meet this they receive a zero in the CA (Continuous Assessment) and PCA (Practical Continuous Assessment) exams which can severely affect their overall grades. I’ve seen students struggle to meet the attendance requirement and some have even been penalized for it.
Other: I chose this course because it combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills in Data Science which is exactly what I need for my career goals. I appreciate the focus on real world projects and problem solving as well as the dedication of our faculty who make complex concepts easier to understand. Beyond academics the campus offers vibrant events festivals and extracurricular activities which make student life lively and engaging. The campus surroundings are pleasant with good connectivity to nearby facilities. Scholarships like SVMCM are available and they provide financial support to many students making education accessible to more.

Really good infrastructure and facilities .
Placements: Actually CSE (DATA Science) course is at a new level, it has been just 2 years since course started in DR. BC ROY ENGINEERING COLLEGE. That is why till now not a single batch passed out from CSE (DATA Science) course. The BCREC Durgapur has a decent placement percentage of students and placement percentage is 75% and reported the highest salary package around 15 LPA and BCREC average salary package of approximately 4.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. There are playgrounds, a gym for students, and many lab. Hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls, ad there is a cafeteria and a canteen. Wi-Fi is available all over the campus. College offers a great infrastructure and green environment for the student studying here in the college. There are separate building for various departments and separate building for library and auditorium.
Faculty: All the professors of the college are well qualified with many having Ph.D. The faculty is experienced, few teachers are from IIT's. They teach well except few teachers who only focus on syllabus completion. The exams are quite tough. As I am studying in CSE (DATASCIENCE) this course is very much relevant for me and the college course curriculum make us industry ready with college initiating many seminars and workshops for all students.
Other: I chose this course because I love it, and there are many job opportunities in this field. The campus life is also good, fests are held also teach fest and cultural fest are organized every year.

Placements: This course is newly affiliated with our college. This course has a lot of future scope and placement opportunities. Several companies, such as Infosys, Persistence, and TCS, are searching for students with such specialisations. Other than that, several companies, such as Capgemini and other start-up companies, are recruiting members from our college.
Infrastructure: Several facilities are available, including libraries and Wi-Fi-enabled air-conditioned labs and smart classrooms, which make learning and implementing the studies easier for the students. In hostels, the food and room quality are pretty good. Several sports, such as volleyball, cricket, football, badminton, and kabaddi, are played here.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers in our department are very friendly, helpful and qualified. All the teachers have previous teaching experience at big universities such as NIT Durgapur and IIT Kharagpur. Yes, the college provides several industrial training practices before placement. The semester exams are not too difficult if they study a little hard.
Other: The college does cultural and technical fests every year, namely Zeal and Horizons, which are very enjoyable and entertaining. This course has various future scopes as it is fully based on data.
