Calcutta University is higher than that of the LL.M. program. In 2022, 95 out of 119 UG (5-year) students were placed, while the placement rate for PG (2-year) students is not officially released. However, the NIRF report 2023 includes the overall placement data for PG (2-year) courses, which is 70%.

Faculty of Law, Calcutta offers a LLM course at the PG level. For admission to LLM course, students must have passed LLB or B.A. LLB from a recognised university/ institute. Selection is done on the basis of score obtained in the entrance-test.

The university has 42 seats for the LLM course. Faculty of Law, CU LLM seat allotment process is carried out through e-counselling. • Must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent from a Board recognised by the University of Calcutta. 
• General category candidates must have obtained not less than 45% marks in best four subjects (Excluding Environmental Studies of WBCHSE).
• Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PERSON WITH DISABILITY (Disability 40% or more) categories must have obtained at least 40% marks in best four subjects (Excluding Environmental Studies of WBCHSE).
• Candidates who have passed 10+2 from a board other than ISC, CBSE, WBCHSE, NIOS, Rabindra Mukto Visyalay must obtain "Equivalence Certificate" from the office of the Registrar University of Calcutta, 87/1, College Street, Kolkata-700073. A written application in plain paper with a relevant photocopy of 10+2 Mark Sheet must be submitted for the same. 

The eligibility criteria for the Faculty of Law at Calcutta University, apart from national-level entrance exams, include the following:
Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in the best four subjects at the 10+2 level from a board recognized by the University of Calcutta. For SC/ST/persons with disabilities (disability 40% or more), a minimum of 40% marks in the best four subjects is required, excluding environmental studies of WBCHSE.

Although no way of applying offline is stated by the Institute. The only way to apply for admissions is to apply online from the Institute's official website. If they allow you can visit the Institute physically and apply for admission. Although admissions before the online era were held on offline basis only. So there is no problem in applying offline.
