All about Gauhati Commerce College.
Placements: I am studying right now in 2nd semester, so I still haven't experienced placements. But I have heard from many students that placement is quite decent and many people got placements in banks and companies. But for getting more better salary you have to study in IIMs.
Infrastructure: Classrooms in BBA building have ACs in each class which helps so much on hot days. Classrooms are also beautiful and have projectors in each class which helps to make studying much more enjoyable. But not always the projectors are used in the regular classes.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful in our studies and they are very knowledgeable and qualified. BBA course is a professional course so obviously it makes students industry-ready as this course includes practical activities also such as seminars for internal marks. Semester exams are not that difficult. If you study then it will be easy for you or else you may fail.
Other: The college events are so enjoyable, so many events happen in this college.

Somewhat satisfied but improvement in placement.
Placements: The placement percentage is very low, only about 10%. The highest package offered is 6 Lacs per annum, and the average is 3 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies are Asian Paints, Nerolac, Purabi Diary, etc. Most roles were managerial posts, marketing, sales, and administrative posts.
Infrastructure: Currently, there is no Wi-Fi facility, but air conditioning is top-notch with 3 ACs per classroom. There is 1 computer lab with more than 50 computers. It has both digital and physical libraries. The hostel is only for boys and provides food 3 times a day. It has a playground for sports week and events and has an indoor game facility.
Faculty: Teachers are highly knowledgeable and understanding; they are helpful. But they never use the technology that is available. For BBA, they create students in such a way that they can tackle real-life situations in corporate life. Semester final exams are easy, but mid-term exams are difficult.
Other: I chose BBA marketing to improve my corporate skills and boost learning. The best thing was the industrial visit and internship program. I would add more internships. The various events are Freshers and Departmental Freshers.

It's not worth it if you want to do BBA here.
Placements: There are no placements available from the college. They won't provide internships, even though they will make them compulsory.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Classrooms are equipped with air conditioners and projectors, but they barely use them.
Faculty: The faculty don't know what to teach or what they are teaching. The university forgets to declare results or conduct exams. No matter how well or badly you perform in exams, you will get the same marks. Sometimes people pass even without appearing in exams.
Other: If you want to do a B.Com, you can go for it, but this is not a good college if you want to do a BBA.

I am satisfied with the average placements, good infrastructure, and the best location.
Placements: GCC placements are not that good. Only a few students are selected for placements, and the salary is also average. Companies like MRF and others come to our campus for recruitment. Roles like assistant manager, sub-orientates, etc., are offered.
Infrastructure: We have a digital classroom with air conditioning. The hostel facility is also good, with hygienic food, a clean campus, and rooms. There are many students from outside Assam because of the quality of education.
Faculty: Overall, the BBA course is good. Teachers are very helpful. They know every student very well, and they behave in a professional way. The course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are moderate, with not much difficulty. The pass percentage is 80.
Other: I've chosen this course because I'm not interested in doing a general degree, so I took the BBA professional course. Our campus drainage system must be improved. If there is continuous rain for 5 minutes, then an artificial flood occurs on our campus. If you are thinking of taking admission to GCC, then you are most welcome.

I am satisfied with this college.
Placements: The BBA course does not lead to any placements or jobs directly after graduation but, students who have passed out from Gauhati Commerce College are in a good position for their careers as entrepreneurs, managers, bank employees, etc. This course gives a good opportunity to bring new and innovative ideas to the students.
Infrastructure: The BBA department of this college has an entire building dedicated to the department. The classrooms are equipped with projectors and air-conditioners for a better learning experience. There is a library with the necessary books required for the course and computer laboratories provided for better classes. There is a boys hostel facility available for the boys to stay in.
Faculty: Students have the best faculty members in the department. Teachers are very helpful and well educated. The course being provided is relevant and helps students to become better academically simultaneously improving their various life skills. The semester exams are easy to pass and students can secure good marks.
Other: The BBA course provides information and knowledge regarding the business or business administration industry and helps an individual to improve various skills required to sustain in the industry. This is the main reason for my selection of the course. There are various events that are held in this college such are freshers, farewell, college week, departmental fests, seminars, college election, and many more.

Review of Gauhati commerce college.
Placements: There are no placements in this college. But last year BBA students do get to work with local companies as internships. The college arranges internships for all the students, and they can choose. There are various government scholarships available to students, some are more than 100% of the total fees.
Infrastructure: For BBA students, there are loads of facilities like air-conditioner classrooms, RO water filters, CCTV cameras, clean classrooms, library, computer laboratories, cafe, etc. The whole campus is a big one, the main building is a very long two-floors building attached to a 3-floors building. There is another 5-floors building under construction. So, the overall infrastructure is above average. There is also a 2-floors boys hostel a few meters away from the college.
Faculty: The teachers are very proficient. They teach everything in a very simplified way, and treat students very politely. Students have to perform various academic curriculum like group discussions, computer applications, debates, manufacturing plants tour, and various projects which are very important for this course. The curriculum makes students ready for real-world situations. It has 2 semesters and 4 seasonal exams in a year. The pass percentage of our batch is more than 90%, so students can say that although the exams are a little hard, but it is not hard to pass.
Other: I opted for this course, because of my interest in it. I have always been very interested in banking, finance, marketing, and management, and this course makes students ready to work in those fields. It would have been better, if the department focused on the practical studies as they do on the theories. Many events take place on the campus throughout the year. There are freshers parties, farewell parties, Saraswati Puja, various seminars, etc were conducted for students.

It is an amazing college to get a BBA degree.
Placements: Placements are given to students from higher secondary to MBA and M.Com degrees. Only roles and jobs are different from one educational level to another. Various companies like Flipkart, Vishal, Bigbazar, etc., and banks like HDFC, ICICI and Axis Bank are some recruiters of the past years. Almost 95% of the students got successful placements. From BBA, you can get an average salary of Rs. 15,000 per month from a company.
Infrastructure: The campus is quite big. The BBA department has a total of 3 classrooms till now, as the number of students is less than 90. Classrooms are equipped with air-conditioners, fans, large windows and 2 doors. There is also an attached washroom. Computer labs are provided to students for their educational use. There are 2 libraries. The hostel is only provided to boys.
Faculty: Teachers are amazing and highly qualified. The ratio of the faculty member to the student is 1:67 in our batch per subject. The course is quite practical based, so it is enjoyable to learn. Examinations are held thrice in a semester. It is quite easy to pass as the passing mark is 33 for 80 marks papers.
Other: The cultural life of our college is amazing. Various fests are held with known personalities. BBA is well-known in Gauhati Commerce College as it is a government-based college with low fees and facilities provided like a private institution. Overall, the campus life is enjoyable with studies.

Good infrastructure only.
Placements: 1. There were 80 to 90 students in the batch.
2. 5 LPA is the highest, 3to 3.5 LPA and 2 LPA the lowest
3. Major recruiters are Wipro, IBM, HSBC, HDFC Bank and Bajaj Finserv
4. This is not a strong point of Gauhati Commerce College as the internship has to be individual find, college doesn't find internships for the students
5. Marketing Executive, Financial analyst, Human Resource assistant, Sales manager and Operations coordinator .
Infrastructure: 1. They provide solid infrastructure to support it's students. They include air conditioned smart classrooms. Digital boards are also there. Digital library and computer labs for practice learning. There are also dedicated seminar halls and auditoriums for events l and video conferencing facilities. However hostels are limited to boys.
2. Don't know about much about the hostel rooms as the hostel was limited to boys. Canteen is there where you can find items like pulao chicken burger sandwich veg chop chowmin roll soft drinks chip all at reasonable price. The taste is average. About the Medical facilities, there are not dedicated aid room or doctor or nurse that is a drawback. Also sport games are not played on general days until and unless there are any events.
Faculty: 1. Teachers are helpful, also qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality of some professors are good and some they just come and recite and go. Notes are provided by the teachers.
2. Yes, this course curriculum is relevant. It make the students industry ready at basic level.
3. The semester exams are not very difficult and the pass percentage is generally high, often exceeding 80% .
Other: 1. I chose this course because I have keen interest in business management. The best thing about this course is that I wanted sort of this type of course which will help me in grabbing knowledge related to my interest.
2. I would suggest them to introduce more practical works to have a hand to hand experience and knowledge.
3. Events are not so often so do fest. Campus crowd is vibrant and diverse as the students are from across Assam and the neighbouring states. It is well connected as it is located centrally in Guwahati R. G Baruah Road. It's is easily accessible via public transportation. They offers scholarships to students based on merit and financial needs. Scholarships are available through state and central government scheme like the National Scholarship Portals. In Extracurricular activities there are not much activities to be really honest.
