Candidate must have completed MBBS degree or provisional MBBS pass certificate which is recognized as per the provisions of the NMC Act, 2019 and the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2025 with the mentioned marks (40 including PWD of SC/ST/OBC) and 45 percentile for UR PWD) in NEET PG. The GMCH Chandigarh seats are divided into two major categories: the All-India Quota and the State Quota. There are General (Open) and reserved seats in the both the categories. Within the State Quota, the following seat reservation policies prescribed by the Punjab & Haryana High Court are followed. The key pointers included in the reservation policies are as follows:
- 5% of the total MD and MS seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark disabilities (PwBD) on horizontal basis as per NMC norms
- 15% of the total MD and MS seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to the SC category
- Additional seats are reserved under various MD and MS specialisations for candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) of the society
Candidates willing to pursue MS at GMCH Chandigarh must register and appear for the NEET PG entrance exam. After appearing for the exam, applicants must register for NEET PG counselling for seat allocation. Candidates seeking admission under the All-India Quota must register for the counselling conducted by the MCC. For the State Quota, candidates must register for the NEET PG Chandigarh counselling. While registering, they must select GMCH Chandigarh as their preferred college for MS. The counselling bodies release merit lists for various counselling rounds. These lists are based on the applicants' NEET PG scores, choices filled while registering for counselling and availability of seats.
