The unfiltered experience in GCE Keonjhar.
Placements: Placement opportunities at this college are poor. In our course, only 20-30% of students were placed. The highest package was 4-5 Lacs, and the lowest was 2-3 Lacs. Internships are not available on campus. If you want to do an internship off campus, you must get permission from the HOD and the Training and Placement Office.
Infrastructure: The college provides Wi-Fi in the library and in every block of the hostel. There are several classrooms and labs in every department, and the college also has a library. The food is now good to eat, and the hostel is a good place to stay.
Faculty: There are several teachers in every department, and all are M. Teach qualified. Some of the facilities, such as the HOD and associate professors, have a Ph.D. background. The course is relevant to the field, but the college does not prepare students for industry. The semester exams are average to difficult, and previous papers are repeated each year.

This college is an average experience.
Placements: Around 60% of students in the CSE department get placed. The highest salary package offered was 5 LPA, the average salary package offered was 3 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 1 LPA- 1.5 LPA. There are no internships provided by the college. If you want to internship at any company, you must first get permission from the college before applying.
Infrastructure: Facilities are quite good, with Wi-Fi available only for administrative work, but not for students. Sufficient labs are present for the current department, and classrooms are quite good. A larger central library is under construction, while a smaller one is already available inside the college. Hostel provides decent facilities, although the Wi-Fi worked better in the initial days. After a few months, the Wi-Fi started facing frequent issues. In my opinion. Water facilities provided are not entirely hygienic and require timely sanitation. Additionally, during the summer, there can be a scarcity of water in the hostel. Quality of food in the mess and canteen is not very impressive at the moment. Hostel is located 3-4 km away from the hospital.
Faculty: Teaching is quite good, and the course curriculum is relevant. However, it cannot be said that it will 100% make students industry-ready. Some effort is needed from the students themselves. Semester exams are not very difficult, you just need to understand the basics of each concept. Pass percentage is currently maintained at 33%.

My experience at Government College of Engineering, Keonjhar.
Placements: Around 50% of students were placed in our college, but in our branch, only 5%-10% of students were placed. Placement scenario is very poor, especially for our branch. Top recruiting companies include Tech Mahindra, Adani, and others.
Infrastructure: There are 2-3 labs in each department, and one library in our college, which also provides Wi-Fi, though some connections are not working properly. Food in our hostel is good now, but it was poor a few months ago. However, food is still not properly managed in our hostel canteen.
Faculty: Some faculty members are helpful and friendly. All the teachers are M.Tech qualified, and some, like the HOD and assistant professors, hold Ph.D degrees from reputed institutes. Semester exams are conducted within a very short duration, typically 2-3 months after the COVID-19 batches. Exam papers range from medium to hard.

Dissatisfied due to not gaining any extra curricular knowledge .
Placements: Around 20-30% of students were placed in our branch. The highest package was around 5 lakhs, and the lowest package was around 3 LPA. Now, at this time, this scenario is going so poor. For placement, you can't prefer this college. Top roles are like testing or any developer job.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is present in both college and hostel, but in our college, it is only available in the library. There are several classrooms in all branches in our college. The quality of food is good, and in our hostel, the sweeper cleans every week.
Faculty: The teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. This course makes the students industry-ready, but in this college, it has ruined careers if you want to get placement in this college. The semester questions are so difficult, and also some questions are repeated from previous years' questions.

Some Unknown Facts about GCE, Keonjhar.
Placements: Placement is very poor in our college. In the last 2-3 years, it has been going down. Very few students are getting placed in any low-level company, like in call centers, with low packages, and not in core companies. For placement purposes, this college is not giving satisfactory results.
Infrastructure: In our college campus, Wi-Fi is not working properly. There are some labs and also a library. In our hostel, the cleaning is not done on time. There is Wi-Fi in our hostel, but some of these Wi-Fi connections are not working properly, and those that do work provide a very slow network. There are fewer sports, games, and medical facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members come regularly and teach us very properly. They also give notes on every chapter to us. They are helping us, and the majority of teachers are M.Tech qualified. Some faculty, like the HOD and assistant professors, have Ph.D. degrees. Semester exams are held in 2-3 months' duration, and they are of medium to hard level.
