Real review based on my college life.
Placements: Honestly speaking, the placement of our college is improving. Last year's placement batch had 25 students with an average package of 3-4 LPA, and the highest placement of our college is 44 LPA. However, I’ve noticed that core branches have better placement rates than tech branches. So, this is the overall situation regarding placements.
Infrastructure: The college area is 12 acres. The infrastructure is good, but compared to other private colleges, it is not much better. There are hostels for girls and boys, and canteen (mess) facilities are only available for hostel students. In my opinion, the education quality is good, so there is no need for excellent infrastructure.
Faculty: The faculty is good. Both permanent and visiting faculty are commendable. They conduct 2 exams, and the internal scores depend on the results of these two exams, making them important for internal assessments. College staff are also helpful to the students. Regular lectures and practicals are held. Now, due to the new education policy (NEP), they’ve added many extracurricular activities and good initiatives for new students.
Other: I chose this college because it offers value for money, is near my home, and I have heard good things about the placement opportunities. There is a small crowd, so all teachers and faculty can provide good attention to each student, which I appreciate.

Government College of Engineering, Nagpur
Placements: The placement of Government College of Engineering Nagpur is average, not much, but many students have had placements in the past, approximately 200 students are placed in good MNCs. Its overall placement record is going upward, and its placement alumni is very strong. So, if the applicants are skillful and deserving, they will surely get placements.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not good, it’s just bad. Every engineering student thinks their college should be good, but here it is very below average compared to other government and private engineering colleges. But yes, one thing is that it is more than worth it in the course fee. Computer labs are well-equipped, in fact, the best.
Faculty: Faculty is first class, they are experienced and qualified, and their teaching is effective. Teaching style is very good. The curriculum is decent, not too much, but there are few opportunities to do more. You can join some of the active clubs of the college. Exams are conducted monthly for 20 marks twice, and the semester exams are conducted by RTMNU..
Other: Most of the crowd is from outside of the city. As it is a government college, many students are intelligent; therefore, they are intellectual and proper. That’s why the crowd is decent, not too good, not too bad. Campus life is normal, you just have to enjoy it by yourself.

Review of Government College of Engineering, Nagpur
Placements: GCOEN has had a good placement record for the last few years. Recently, one passed-out student from the ENTC branch of GCOEN got placed in Sony for 48 LPA. Placements are good but only depend on your skills and the companies’ requirements. Not many big companies like Google or Microsoft visit here, but many companies do come for placement drives, so students get a big opportunity to secure placements.
Infrastructure: I am not satisfied with the campus because I had dreamed it would be much better for my engineering life, but still, one thing is that it is more than worth it for the course fee. It’s not so bad that I would not choose it, but it is less attractive compared to other colleges. The classrooms and labs are good, and the hostels are also good with Wi-Fi all over the campus.
Faculty: The faculty is good, well-supported to students, and they are well-qualified with more than 10 years of experience. They teach with their experience and dignity, putting 100% effort into the students. Extracurricular activities are decent, not like other engineering colleges, but there are many clubs to participate in and boost your curriculum, like the IIC (Institute Innovation Council).
Other: The crowd is good, they are mostly from outside. As the college is government-run, many prefer to score well and come here from outside the cities. Campus life is normal, not too enjoyable, not too focused on studies. Events and fests are organised every year, so there is much to enjoy.

Review of Government College of Engineering, Nagpur.
Placements: GCOEN has a decent placement record with a fair number of students getting placed in recent years. While TCS is a primary recruiter other companies also hire from the institution. Overall, the placements are quite good for students as long as they have the necessary skills. A student with the right skills will definitely get placed.
Infrastructure: Although the course fee is more than worth it for the facilities, GCOEN's infrastructure might not be as grand as one would expect from an engineering college. The campus has three academic buildings, the Main building houses the Civil and Mechanical departments, the Annex building contains the Electronics, Electrical, and Computer Science departments, and a third building is currently under construction. There is one boys' hostel and one girls' hostel, a play area, and well-equipped labs.
Faculty: Faculty is good and well-experienced with effective teaching skills, which helps students enjoy studying and score easily. They are supportive and provide separate attention when needed. Exams are conducted by the RTMNU twice a year, while the college conducts three CTs per semester.
Other: The crowd at GCOEN is mostly good, consisting of both localites and outsiders. As it is a government college, students work hard to gain admission and do their best. The campus life is decent, although not overly exciting, there are many active clubs to participate in, which helps boost your confidence.

Review of Government College of Engineering, Nagpur.
Placements: Placements are average. In the last batch, many students got placements all over. They match the company requirements, and that's why they got placed. The institute's placement record is good if you are skilled and match the company's requirements. The placement graph is going upward from the start.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average. It doesn't compare to other engineering colleges, especially government ones. It is decent in its feel. As it is a government college, it consists of 2 hostels and 3 buildings for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Science, and also for M. Tech.
Faculty: Teachers are well-experienced with effective teaching skills, which is overall important. They are supportive and friendly. Semester exams are conducted by RTMNU University, and 3 class tests are conducted in a semester. The curriculum is decent, and many clubs are available to join and enjoy.
Other: Campus life is good, but not as expected. However, having a government college at a low price with good courses and results makes campus life satisfactory. The college conducts events like Ganesh Chaturthi, Shivaji Jayanti, etc. The annual fest, ORANz Teach Fest, ADHYAYA, and sports events like SPOORTI are held. Scholarships are provided to everyone admitted through CET, depending on the category.

Supportive faculty members and helpful environment.
Placements: Placement scenario in the Electronics and Telecommunication (ETC) branch is decent. Around 60-70% students get placed every year. Top companies like TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, and Cognizant visit for recruitment. The average package is around 3.5 LPA, and some students also get internships in core companies.
Faculty: Faculty members of the ETC department are well-qualified and helpful. Most of them have good teaching experience and explain concepts in a simple and clear manner. The curriculum is designed as per RTMNU university standards, but it could be more industry-oriented. Teachers support students during projects and exams. Semester exams are moderately difficult, and most students pass with proper preparation. The average pass percentage is around 85% to 90%. Faculty members of the ETC department are knowledgeable and supportive. Most of them have good teaching experience and are always ready to help students. The curriculum is updated as per university standards. Exams are conducted on time and fairly. Internal assessments and practicals are also taken seriously, which helps in overall understanding of the subjects.
Other: Overall, my experience at college has been good. The environment is decent for studies, and the faculty members are supportive. There is scope for improvement in terms of placements and practical exposure. Students who stay active in academics and extracurricular activities can make the most of the opportunities here.
