Good campus and infrastructure, but average faculty — placements are improving gradually.
Placements: I was from the B.E. CSE (AI & ML) batch of 2023. Around 70-75% of students were placed. The highest package was 10 LPA, the average remains around 4-5 LPA, and the lowest was 2.5 LPA. Top recruiters included TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, and Cognizant. Around 50-60% of students got internships in companies like TCS, startups via Internshala, and AI-based firms. Common roles offered were software developer, data analyst, ML intern, and support engineer. Skill-based preparation and personal projects helped students get better opportunities.
Infrastructure: Our CSE (AI & ML) department had smart classrooms, Wi-Fi, and computer labs with the required software. The library was well-stocked with books and digital resources. Hostel rooms were basic but manageable, with average Wi-Fi and shared washrooms. Mess food was okay, but repetitive; the canteen had a better variety. Medical facilities included a health room and nearby hospital tie-ups. Sports facilities were decent, including grounds for cricket, football, and courts for badminton and basketball. Indoor games like carrom and table tennis were also available. Overall, the infrastructure was satisfactory, but some areas, like labs and hostels, could be improved.
Faculty: Most teachers were helpful, qualified, and had good subject knowledge, though teaching was more theory-based than practical. Some faculty members used updated methods, but others followed traditional styles. The course curriculum was relevant but needed more industry exposure and practical projects to make students truly job-ready. Semester exams were moderate in difficulty, and students who studied regularly could score well. The pass percentage was around 80-90%, depending on the subject. While the course built a good foundation, students had to rely on self-learning, internships, and online resources to bridge the gap between academics and real-world industry needs.
Other: I was from the B.E. CSE (AI & ML) batch of 2023. I chose this course due to the rising demand for AI technologies. The syllabus covered key topics like ML, Python, and Data Science, but more practical exposure and industry tie-ups are needed. Faculty were qualified but mostly focused on theory. The campus had good infrastructure, an average hostel and mess, and decent sports facilities. College events, hackathons, and cultural fests were enjoyable. The crowd was diverse and friendly. Connectivity was decent, and scholarships were available. Overall, a good experience, but students need self-effort to become industry-ready.

This college improves and maintains decorum.
Placements: I am a part of the 2027 batch of Electronics and Communication Engineering, offered by the Electronics Department at Government Engineering College, Barmer. The top roles offered in our course include software developer, data analyst, system engineer, associate consultant, business analyst, and cloud engineer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for our course is well-developed and supports an effective learning environment. Our department has modern classrooms equipped with smart boards and projectors, ensuring interactive teaching sessions. Wi-Fi connectivity is strong across the campus, especially in academic blocks, labs, and libraries, which makes it convenient for students to access digital resources anytime.
Faculty: The faculty members for our course are a blend of experienced professors and young, dynamic lecturers. Most of them are well-qualified, holding PhDs or M.Tech/MBA degrees in their respective fields. They are approachable, helpful, and knowledgeable, often available beyond class hours to clarify doubts or guide students on academic and project work. Guest lectures and workshops by industry professionals and alumni are also organized regularly, adding practical insight to our learning.

It can be Rajasthan's best government college (Government Engineering College, Barmer) but not till.
Placements: As for now, there are not that much on-campus placements. The main reason behind this is that the college is not that old. This is not located in a good area. Good placements are in petroleum branch only. Well, about other branches without petroleum there are average placements.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is average only. There are all the basic things available in college that are used to study. The hostel is too old but it's okay. A new one is to be made (budget issue). The food is good at mess. Hostel has Wi-Fi also but not that good speed.
Faculty: About faculty, it's not that great but it's not that bad also. Firstly, there is no government faculty. There are only guest faculty members who are mostly freshers only not experienced holders. About exams, our college comes under MBMU (MBM University). So, the exams are conducted by them.
Other: I chose this course because I didn't have good percentile in JEE. So I wanted to take admission in MBM Jodhpur, and I wanted to take CSE. So that was not possible for me due to very high cutoff. So our college is affiliated with MBM Jodhpur. The seats for CSE are left in my college so I took admission here. I think this college can be made one of the best government colleges in Rajasthan but due to politics, it is not possible. Very few events are hosted by the college.

It is average college in Barmer.
Placements: Placements are below average, with only about 20%-30% of students placed through college drives. The highest package has been around 5 LPA-6 LPA, while the average remains around 3 LPA. Companies like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro have recruited from the college. Internship opportunities are fewer and mostly pursued by students independently. Common roles include software development, testing, and support.
Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, classrooms are decent and labs are functional, although modernization is needed. Wi-Fi is available in selected areas, and the library is useful, though it could benefit from updated resources. Hostel facilities are average. Rooms are clean, mess food is manageable, and basic medical and sports facilities are provided. However, options in the canteen and recreational space are limited.
Faculty: Faculty quality is good overall, although certain departments need more consistent staffing. The curriculum is mostly aligned with RTU and covers core subjects well, but it could be more industry-oriented with the inclusion of modern technologies like AI, ML, and data science. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty, and students who stay consistent generally pass without issues. The course curriculum includes both theoretical and practical components, and the faculty members are generally knowledgeable and supportive. Some even encourage participation in projects and competitions beyond regular academics.
Other: I chose the B.E/B.Tech course because of my interest in technology and problem-solving. Engineering provides a strong technical foundation and opens up diverse career paths.
