Q:   What is the opening and closing rank for BTech in CSE at IIIT Lucknow?
A: 

The opening and closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 7521 and closing rank was 9480. Cut off are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 13283 and 13346. Admission to BTech in Computer Science and Engineering in IIIT Lucknow is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE. Q:   How much is the fee for IIIT Lucknow M.Tech course?

IIIT Lucknow MTech fee is INR 5.8 lakh. The fee mentioned here is taken from official website/sanctioning body and is the total tuition fee. It is subject to changes. Apart from the total tuition fee, a one-time payment of INR 18,500 will also be charged. This one-time fee includes Institute Caution Money, Enrollment Fee, Identity Card Fee, Alumni fund and Institute Development and Maintenance Charges

Q:   Is JEE Main compulsory to take admission in BTech at IIIT Lucknow?
A: 

Yes, JEE Main is compulsory to take admission in BTech at IIIT Lucknow. Candidates must fulfil the eligibility and apply for JEE Main on the official website of NTA. Applicants must clear the JEE Main cutoff for IIIT Lucknow. They have to particpate in JoSAA/CSAB cousnelling for seat allocation.

Q:   Can I get admission to IIIT Lucknow with a rank of 10000?
A: 

Yes, you can get admission at IIIT Lucknow with a JEE Main rank of 10000 if you belong to the General AI category. The IIIT Lucknow cutoff 2026 was released for the first round, according to which only one branch was available, ie, B.Tech. in Computer Science and Business, with the cutoff being 10201. 

On the other hand, as per IIIT Lucknow JEE Main cutoff 2026 for round 1, no other specialisation was available in other categories, namely, OBC, SC, ST, EWS and PWD. To know which ranks are acceptable, students can click here.

Note: Cutoff for other rounds will vary. 

Q:   How much rank is required to get a seat at IIIT Lucknow?

The rank required to gain admission at IIIT Lucknow would depend on the category you belong to, the branch you have chosen and the round you are applying in. 

The IIIT Lucknow JEE Main cutoff 2026 was announced for the first round for admission to the BTech course and its various specialisations. For the General AI category, the round 1 cutoff ranged from 8095 to 10201, with BTech CSE being the toughest for admission. Hence, students have to attain a rank of at least 10201 or below to take admission to this institution. 

Other categories, rounds, etc, will have different cutoffs.

Absolutely satisfied with the placements and cultural events, but the hostels can be improved.
Placements: 120 students are placed. Highest package is 1.2 crore per annum. The average is 40 LPA. The lowest is 11 LPA. Recruiting companies are Google, Amazon, Dshaw, Flipkart, Zomato, and Uber. 70 percent of students got internships in Google, Uber, Omnissa, Flipkart, and Intuit. Roles offered are software developer, business analyst, product manager, back-end, and front-end developer.
Infrastructure: There is excellent internet connectivity. Labs are air-conditioned. There is a library and decent classrooms. The hostel facilities are not up to par and not the best. Around 10 students stay in one room. The mess food is decent (only vegetarian food). The canteen is available. Medicare is available. For sports, there is a football ground.
Faculty: All the faculty staff are very supportive and qualified at a higher level, so knowledge is the key to their success. All the subjects that we study are 100 percent preparing us for the industry-level challenges. Semester exams are tougher than in some colleges. The passing percentage is above 40 percent.
Other: I chose this college while I was looking for a better coding culture. The best thing about this college is the placements. I think the hostel facilities can be improved. We conduct an annual tech fest at IIITL. A cultural fest is also being conducted this year. Scholarships are available. The campus is around 50 acres of land.

IIIT Lucknow, reality check - Hype vs Truth.
Placements: 90% placed, and the highest package is 44 LPA, the lowest package is 5 LPA. The top recruiters are HCL, TCS, Information Edge, Shadi.com, etc. 80% students get the chance of internships in Aditya Birla, Alphadroid, TCS, HCL, Google, Information Edge, etc. Top roles are Sales, Marketing, HR, Researcher, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, computer lab, library, and digital boards are available in classes. Also extension for laptop charging is available in the class. In the labs desktop is available for students. In the hostel, they give you a bed, an almirah, and a chair table. Watercooler for drinking water. The quality of food is better in two canteens on campus, and a PHC is also available. All games are available.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly and well-qualified from big institutes like IIM, IITs, and abroad. They have very good knowledge of their domain. Overall, teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant for an industrial exposure. The difficulty level of the exam is moderate, and 33% is the passing mark.
Other: I chose it because of the reputation of the institute. The best things about the DB course are that it is new and future-oriented. The campus life infrastructure can be improved. Equinox is the annual fest of the college, 700+ students study in the college, two km from the Lulu malls. UP scholarship, Central government scholarship.

Less college life, a small campus, and above-average placements.
Placements: Above 90% of people are placed every year. Every girl will be placed, as girls' opportunities are greater. The highest is above 1 crore approximately, the average is 33 lakhs, and the lowest is 12-15 lakhs. Top recruiters are Google, Zomato, GSOC, Meesho, Uber, Rubrik, ServiceNow, Blinkit, Amazon, and JP Morgan, mainly.
Infrastructure: Average infrastructure with average Wi-Fi facilities. Average quality of mess and canteen. The course structure is good comparatively because only computer science-related subjects will be taught here, unlike other colleges. A small canteen is available, but all deliveries are available, so no problem with the canteen.
Faculty: Courses in academics are useful and good; it is not like other colleges. The course structure is quite good. The course curriculum is relevant as here only computer science subjects will be taught in academics, unlike other colleges. Semester exams are at an above-average level; it is not easy, and it is difficult to score grades here.
Other: Campus life is not too good; coding culture is comparatively very nice. Events and all are average, like 2-3 events or fests in 2-3 months, hardly. The crowd is less here; intake is very low. Around 60 people for the branch and only 4 CS branches, no other branches will be.

Review of IIIT Lucknow - Indian Institute of Information Technology.
Placements: The placements at our college are good but they don't reveal a complete picture. Here it is a good college and the coding culture is amazing but the fact is you have to work hard for those dream packages. Other than that the course curriculum is good and the seniors are helpful. The placements are good. The average package is around 30 LPA and the median is also around 27 or something fabulous. Last year, Google also came to our college. For internships also some companies come to our college.
Infrastructure: The mess food is decent enough and the quality is I won't say good but it is certainly not bad. The medical facility is there for students most of the times. Wi-Fi and sports facilities are also fairly good. The hostels they can't accommodate all the students so the 1st year they stay outside the college.
Faculty: I would say teachers knowledge here is good and they mostly teach well. Course curriculum is also advanced and relevant with respect to the current market scenario. Here from the first year only we are taught coding subjects. It makes the students industry-ready. The exams also have a good level.
Other: I chose this course because I knew the coding culture was going to be solid here and the curriculum of IIITs is also best. The campus life could have been somewhat better than what it is but still, it is decent as it is a more academically focused college.

Review of IIIT Lucknow - Indian Institute of Information Technology.
Placements: Placements are good. Good companies visit the college for placements like Google, Zomato, DE Shaw, etc. Students who are good at studying get placements easily. In college, the highest package is 29.85 LPA, and the lowest package is around 26 LPA. Our college has a good environment for studying.
Infrastructure: Our college does not have a good infrastructure. The Wi-Fi connection is good and working fine. Mess food is good as compared to other colleges. Sports facilities are not that good in our college. We have a gym which has a good number of equipment, and anyone can go to the gym.
Faculty: Our college has excellent academic coursework because our branch CS has no other subject irrelevant to our branch. We studied subjects like DBMS in our 1st semester. Our college does not conduct many classes, and in a day, we have to attend only 3 to 4 lectures. Exams are easy.

Top tier in placements and coding culture.
Placements: Very good placement. Reason for our placements is our coding culture and updated syllabus. Our college average placement is around 30 LPA, which is good. Many top product-based companies visited our college like Google. Many placements are obtained from off-campus. So you need to work hard to obtain a good placement in this job market.
Infrastructure: A little bit of satisfaction in terms of hostel and infrastructure. For our batch, the hostel was given outside the college. So we need to travel daily. A bus was provided. Temporary hostel is not so good (no Wi-Fi). Hostel is not so clean. There are many insects and pests, including rats. But this is only for the first semester, so if you deal with it for some time (3-4 months), after you shift to college hostel, you will be okay. College hostel is relatively clean and has good Wi-Fi connection. Washing machines are provided.
Faculty: For our batch, we have college 6 days a week. Syllabus is updated. You will learn a good amount of coding in your first year itself. Our college is strict in terms of studies with regular exams. All the branches have the same syllabus and faculty for the first 2 years, and next 2 years also we have almost the same, excluding one or two subjects.
